It’s time for the weekend sports update for the girls in the family. Normally we post about our sports on Tuesdays, but Nelson turned nine months old on Tuesday, so we pushed our post out a couple days. It’s all mostly good news and we are thankful for that! I’m super excited to tell you all about this pretty ribbon I earned!
First off, Olivia and I are invited to the FastCAT Invitational in Orlando, Florida again. Remember we went to it last December? This year we probably will not be going. If it wasn’t so far away, we would go for sure, but it is a big trip and we have some other large travel plans coming up we really want to do. It is the same three dogs in the top three, so barring any major upsets, the results would be the same. Mom says we will go again when Nelson gets invited. We are sure he will be fast enough to get a spot. We had a blast on our trip last year, but some new destinations will be a lot of fun too.
Miss Bailie and Team Purple had an L3C, Level 3 Container Trial on Saturday afternoon. Mom and Bailie have been practicing a lot so Bailie could get her L3C Title. Well, you know Bailie, not very reliable when it comes to sports. The day started off with a “no”. In the end, Bailie failed three of the four searches miserably, but she did pass one. Amazingly, the search she passed, only four of twenty two dogs passed, and Bailie placed third in that search. She claims the other three searches were too easy and bored her, so she didn’t do well. Yeah, right, sis!
Now for the HEADLINE NEWS. I, Madison, participated in my seventeenth NW3 Trial on Sunday. This is Nose Work 3 where there are six searches with zero to three hides in each search, but they don’t tell you how many, just the range. I earned a leg in June 2021 and another one in Wyoming on April 16th to give me my first NW3 Title. Mom said it will take us forever to get the three we need to move to the next level.
Sunday Mom and I headed out to the trial site, just twenty minutes from home. Five of the six searches would be outside, it was very cold and really windy. She said we had no expectations other than to have me work and have fun. Failure was pretty much a given. Well, surprise! Mom and I worked super hard as a team, and I had a lot of fun. In the end, we found all the hides with no errors and I earned a full NW3 Title! Now I have two of the three I need to move up a level! Team pink was hot! Never in a million years did we expect a title, let alone a full one. #27 was my lucky number that day! Mom still has trouble believing we did it! We did it on October 16th, which is exactly six months after my first one on April 16th.
To put things into perspective, Olivia needed just five trials to earn three NW3 Titles. She is a special and speedy sniffer, though. I’m thrilled to sniff at my own pace and even though all my searches were slow, I still came in at thirteenth place out of thirty eight dogs in the trial. I’m very proud of that!

Madison, You rock!! Bailie, you are a trip!! Congrats to all!!!
Mom is thrilled we got the full title, but she says we have a lot of work to do if I want to earn another one and move on to Elite. Bailie, well, she is Bailie.
All of you are super in your sports! Congratulations on those achievements.
Thank you. Bailie could be a super star, but she usually chooses to make a fool out of Mom instead.
Great update!! Well done!!!
Thank you.
Congratulations! I can’t wait for all of to get invited to Florida again. I loved hearing abt your wins. Yes Florida is a long drive.
We think we will keep getting invited for a couple years unless some new pup comes in and is super fast.
All great news, but Madison took it out of the park. Congratulations on a perfect scores.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Mom has been spoiling me all week for my good work π
I am so happy for you and your mom! I’m a nosey scent hound too, and I want to know where you display all the ribbons you all have earned! β€οΈ XOXO Sparkle
We have three walls of awards and one of photos. Mom keeps reorganizing right now so we can fit more in.
That’s awesome, Madison. Way to go! And Bailie, it sounds like you mach to the beat of your own drum. π
Bailie always does what she feels like doing and nothing more.
Cheers for the ladies!
Girl power here!
While i’m sorry to hear you won’t be going to Fastcat in Orlando this year, i do get it. No dog can do everything, you have to pick and choose.
Bailie, if you are still having fun, i do hope you just keep going at your pace.
Madison, you are a firecracker when you want to be, congratulations!
There is a tiny chance we may go the FL for FastCAT, but probably not. Mom says we are becoming a team. Last night at nose work class I was really working well too.
WOW, what a nice bunch of terrific news and wonderful wins! Y’all were rockin’ it out and congratulations on being invited to Orlando again. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It was all pretty good news. Now we are back into sports for a few weeks and doing some travel again before the winter hibernation.
Congratulations! Well done.
Thank you.
