Saturday Nelson and I had a fun fall walk after nose work practice. Mom took us to a park to sniff and then for a nice walk on a beautiful day. Mom used to live near Blackhawk Lake, and we sometimes go there to walk. For Nelson it was his first time.
Nelson and I had a blast, but Mom says she now knows why she doesn’t usually walk the two of us together. We are kind of crazy on leash and seeing squirrels, we almost overpower her. It’s not a very long walk, but it is a pretty one for sure.
The lake is mostly surrounded by woods, so there are a ton of squirrels racing around. Mom’s arms had a good workout with the two of us, LOL! We are using our hands free leashes but still, she has to hold on tight.
Sometimes we got up on a tree stump for a photo. Mom says it is good to practice our balance and to learn posing for Nelson.
Saturday was almost eighty degrees, so when we were on the path in the direct sun, it was really warm. Our tongues got a real workout!
They are taking down a lot of trees, so we found another stump to take a photo on. Mom likes seeing my amber eyes in the sunlight.
There is a lookout place on the far end of the lake. Bailie says Mom always stops there for photos, so we stopped. A guy was sitting there and he could hear Mom calling us by name and then he started laughing. He says he works with two people named Olivia and Nelson. What a coincidence!
Here is a fun throw back photo to October 2013 when Bailie was just four months old, in the same spot we are in in the photo above the one with Katie, Emma, and Bailie. It is almost exactly nine years later!
Mom took some profile shots of each of us. This one is me, focusing on a squirrel in the woods. I really hold still when I’m focused like this.
Nelson wanted to look the other direction. He didn’t seem to find a squirrel to focus on. That is probably a good thing or he would be gone!
We had a short, but fun fall walk. As we were leaving the lake and taking this photo, Nelson spotted some people with a bunch of dogs. He likes to be “the man”. He was watching to make sure they didn’t come and kill us or anything like that. He loves meeting dogs, but he is careful if there are too many.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
What great photos, especially the throwback one; and a fun coinsidence!
It is a fun coincidence!
so there is another Olivia and Nelson, in this world. I prefer you, the Canine Versions… excellent photos guys
We don’t know the other pair, but we are sure we are better.
What a fun walk but 80 degrees is way too hot for the end of October! Love the throw back photo.
It is way too warm, but it was still fun!
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Olivia and Nelson please tell your Mom how very very much we appreciate all the lovely places we visit with you and the flashback photo…sweet memories.
The hands free leash is a wonderful invention especially for those of us who love the photos mom can take.
That was funny about the man and his coworkers.
Hugs Cecilia
We all love the hands free leash, it is really nice for all. Thank you for visiting us.
What a beautiful walk. You both need to be kind to your mom! Have a wonderful weekend! XOXO Sparkle
We are, but she refuses to run after squirrels with us which is causing a problem.
Sounds like a great place for a walk.
We love to come here a few times a year.
what a wonderful day… with sun and so much colors… we loved to see your Katie and Emma….
Mom misses them and she misses her first dog Trine who lived right up the street from the park.
Aw, such great shots and I love the Bailey shot as a puppy. Adorable.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Looking at old photos is always fun π
What a lovely walk round the lake and through the woods.Gail says you guys are such great posers and I could learn something from you both. She especially likes the profile shots.
Toodle-oo!
Nobby
Thank you. We practice from when we are tiny puppies, so we get pretty good at modeling.
Y’all look like you were having fun at the lake, such nice photos. That was a very sweet flashback too!
Thank you. It was a fun walk and we love old photos too.
What a beautiful park for a walk…especially when there are squirrels about!!
xoxo,
Rosy…who would also be wanting to run after those tree rats!
There is a reason Mom only walks two of us at a time, LOL!
It looks like you had a great time in a beautiful spot. Your Mom might need to put each of you with an older sister for walks to have a balance, one extremely active dog at a time is probably enough when you are taking a longish walk.
We may not be really big dogs, but we are strong so when two of us pull, Mom comes along whether she wants to or not π
Great photos! After I read about the guy laughing about your names being same as his co-workers, I saw the throwback photo and thought “that guy’s dogs look just like Katie, Emma and…..” and then I smacked myself upside the head….”dummy! they ARE Katie, Emma, and baby Bailie!” π€£π€£π€£ Kinda shows where my brain’s been hiding these last several months.
You have been through so much, your brain deserves time to be confused and it is alright. Thank you for stopping by.
What a terrific walk you two had! Learning how not to chase quirrels must be difficuly. The squirrels around here have naughty tongues and they like to torment me and Jo Jo. They leave Kozmo alone as he has caught several and our hairy slobbery sister Cinnamon totally ignores them. (pretty strange for a dog I think). We hope you guys have a marvellously happy weekend! Purrs Marv
We can’t imagine ignoring squirrels but Mom says with age we are not as crazy when we see them.
Great pictures. I guess you two really wore out your mom. You need to be areful so she does not fall and hurt herself. I know those squirrels can be enticing but they seem to be faster than you. I guess all 3 of you had your tongues hanging out.
Mom is pretty good at balancing after so many years of being a flight attendant. She says we are great resistance training for her.
what great photos and poor Mom!!!!
