It’s an attempted Halloween squirrel takeover! Whew, thank dog for the Squirrel Patrol being right there on the scene to stop the process! Squirrels are the theme of our costume set this year. It didn’t exactly work out as hoped, but we think you will get the idea. This year is tough with four of us, one boy, who is also a puppy. Next year, we may all do our own thing instead.
Mom found these squirrel patrol shirts on sale and decided they would be fun for costumes and easy for Nelson to deal with. Originally, Mom was going to put our stuffed squirrels all around us, and we would be holding our trick or treat pails. As you can see in my photo, I have no problem with the plan.
Enter Nelson. Not only will he not wear a hat or glasses, he won’t hold his pail either. Mom put out some squirrels and he would not stop trying to play with them. It was decided to just add a couple cartoon squirrels instead. Nelson is a good boy and he does try hard, but some things are too much at his age.
Madison did well with her assignment. Mom also got two stuffed surfing squirrels for Madison and Olivia to wear on their backs. They are not very stable and like to fall over, and it is almost impossible to see the surf board in the photos. They are cute squirrels in their flowered swimming trunks.
Then we have Olivia who would not hold her treat pail in her mouth. She has a bigger surfing squirrel on her back and I think he is waving at you!
Trying to get all four of us in position, and to stay in position, doing what we were asked to do was nearly impossible. We did manage to stop the squirrel takeover, thank goodness! No problem, we had fun, and the costume idea was not bad, just a bit over our learning curve this year. We wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween!

Awww, thank you. Mom always has a vision she creates in her head and then with us, but this one isn’t exactly what she wanted.

She was pretty much “done” she said. When one or two of us were just right then others would do something wrong. Four is tough especially with a puppy.
What a fun? photoshoot. We love those shirts! Yes, squirrels are evil, our mom is always picking up nuts shells in our yard because the people in the houses behind us are feeding them. Grrrrrr.
Mom puts out squirrel food sometimes because she wants them here for us to chase for fun, but it is quite messy.
What fun! and persistence!! There are only two of us, but we had a jolly good time with Mom and our costumes. Dad ended up being the photographer. We were pirates, and Olive kept pretty still, but Not me!!! It was a three ring circus! All of us were dead tired afterwards. Olive and I are not used to being dressed, but mostly we were somewhat tolerant! Hopefully one of our photos wil end up in the next GBGVCA newsletter .

It is hard when you are not used to it. We have all grown up modeling, but Nelson still has a very short attention span and is learning about holding things and leaving a hat on his head. Happy Howloween!

The squirrel patrol shirts Mom found are great! Nelson does like to do his own thing but he needs to learn to be a bit more patient in life. It will come. He is still a puppy.

Mom has enough trouble with just 1 dog! Even with the 2 hairy slobbery sisters Bob and Sam (who were great dogs) she could only ever get 1 do anything at the same time! She is amazed at how good you guys are. She says all the photoshopping is time consuming but way less frustrating than trying to deal with pets who have their own minds! You guys are purrfect and we sure enjoyed your thwarting of the evil squirrels! Keep on being awesome! Purrs Marv
Our mom can’t do photoshop at all, so we have no option. Since we do photos all the time usually it is a quick project but when it comes to props, and lots of things going on, it is hard with four of us. Happy Howloween!

Four dogs is tough but when one is a puppy, it is really tough. Still it turned out alright.
