Today we start a dozen years of blogging at My GBGV Life. Our blog was founded by Debucher Baguette, Emma, on November 8th, 2011. She had no idea where it would go over the years, but her idea was Grand. In 2014, she finally got a professional logo which works perfectly even after so many years.
When the first post came out, Emma didn’t know how to use WordPress. She had the free version and didn’t even label her post title, LOL! At the time she was a lone GBGV at our house and lived with our other dear sister Katie the Kuvasz and the two felines Bert and Sophie. She planned to name it Emma’s blog or Life With Emma, but then decided to remove her name so the blog would not die if something happened to her. Sadly, she did pass away, but her blog and legacy live on. The above photo was taken in November 2011.
With time, My GBGV Life has evolved. For one thing, Emma became a real business woman. Once she found BlogPaws, she earned money through product reviews for many years. She set up social media accounts, built large followings, and then came more GBGV’s into her life – Bailie in 2013, and Madison in 2016.
Sadly BlogPaws as Emma knew it dissolved but the blog has continued. These days we have changed our focus away from reviews to life with dogs and a lot of dog sports information. Emma left me, Madison, her blog. I do my best to keep it going and my siblings are a big help in getting posts put together. We have seen many blogging friends come and go over the years which is sad on one paw, but exciting on the other. Blogging at My GBGV Life is fun and we hope to keep it up and running for a long time! Cheers to a Grand twelfth year! A special thank you to all our followers, especially those who have been around since almost the beginning.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Happy 12th Blogaversary! We love your blog and are amazed at all of the wonderful things that each and every one of you accomplish!
Thank you. Mom is shocked the blog has been going on for so long. Starting it was just a whim and there were no thoughts of a big future or anything.
ooh habby 12 o versary… for 12 more and for 12×12 more
We take it one year at a time. Twelve is a lot of years.
I don’t remember the yr I started following you but I know it has been a long time. I try to read every blog post and do catch up one’s that I miss. I admit I miss Emma ‘s blogs, her hats, cheerleading, cooking, etc. However I think all of you have done a fantastic job continuing the blog that made Emma famous and so well loved. Congrats to all of you!
Thank you. We know you have been a fan for a very long time. Emma was a one of a kind hound, but we do things a bit differently as well as always keeping Emma alive. It will always be her blog.
We enjoy reading all of your posts; watching all of you in your dogsports is very inspiring. And, the occasional cooking class and product review is also great. (Yes, we have made our mom test out a couple of your recipes!)
Thank you for being fans. Bailie is trying to think of what to make for Thanksgiving right now. She likes to make easy things she can eat but she is not the chef Emma was. We are always happy to hear that people actually take our advice, or try our recipes.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful mom. ♥
Thank you. It is king of crazy how long things keep going. It seems like forever but also like we have been doing it for just a few years.
12 years!! Holy Cow that is a long time! We’ve been reading it almost since the beginning — and it is interesting that other blogs we have followed have come and gone. You have great posts, great photos, great stories! Congratulations on a great job and on great stamina! Emma would be proud. Have a great day, your friends Chester and Lilly (and mom)
We figure it won’t be forever, but as long as we enjoy it and it works for us, we will keep going. Most of our blogging friends have disappeared over the years which is kind of sad. We know you all have been friends of the blog for a very long time which is amazing! You two and your mom have a fun day!
Happy Blogoversary! 😊 I have been following your blog since I arrived with my family in 2014. Maggie, my PBGV sister who I never met is watching over all of us with Emma Katie, Sophie and so many other fur babies that have entered my mommy’s heart. You are doing a pawsitively pawsome job, Madison! XOXO Sparkle
Thank you, Sparkle. Bailie remembers the day she heard about you and that you came from Duluth. It was exciting!Your family and ours have had some very sad losses and exciting additions to our families. We are so happy you and your mom are our friends.
Emma was a professional gal with a vision way ahead of her time. She wore spectacles and pearls with such class too. Hugs and happy 12th year
Cecilia
She was a classy lady hound who loved being well known. She will never be forgotten.
Happy Blogaversary! I look forward to reading your wonderful and fun blog everyday and for many years to come!! My Alex also loves the cookies I bake for him from your recipes. Thank you!!!!
It makes us happy that Alex can benefit from some of our recipes 🙂 Thank you for being a good fan.
Happy Blog Anniversary!! We’re two years ahead of you (2009), but the past 2 years we have been quite sporadic!!! (Since the boys passed). Well done YOU!!
Yeah, losing the main furry one or ones changes everything. We are glad Emma named it so it could go on in case she was no longer here. It makes it easier if you don’t have to rebrand. We still have fun with it, so we keep tapping the keyboard with our paws 🙂 Thanks for being a good blogging friend for so many years.
LOVE seeing old photos of Emma! Especailly the blouse and pearls. A dozen years!!! How time flies! Madison is doing a great job of keeping the blog live!!!
It is kind of a family blog now, but I am the one in charge who makes the big decisions.
I don’t recall when we first met all of you at GBGV, but it was a good day, a very good day and we’ve enjoyed all our visits here ever since. You do an extraordinary job of story telling through photography and words, day in and out, your followers are never disappointed. Congratulations on 12 years of beautiful work, on raising and training truly amazing dogs and sharing your lives with us, we thank you.
Thank you. We can’t remember when we found your blog either, but it seems like it must have been fairly early on as you were making badges, etc as long as Mom can remember. Storytelling through photos is fun for us and Mom has done it since she was a little girl. Cheers to more blogging years for us both.
Happy Blogoversary from all of us. Twelve years is a wonderful milestone and here’s to another twelve!
We will see how it goes. At our house we go one year at a time. Our only goal is to enjoy blogging and to have people enjoy what we are posting. If either of those go away, we should quit blogging.
Happy Blogoversary from all of us at Wonderpurr.com. We have always enjoyed reading your posts.
Thank you so much 🙂
Happy Blogiversary!! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, doesn’t it???
It really does. We remember then we started year ten and were totally amazed and here we are two years later. Emma would be proud of us.
Terrific post! We were part of the Cat Blogosphere when you started and we did stop by occasionally. We have loved watching the changes and excitement that goes on at My GBGV Life and the competitions the dogs go to is really fun to fiollow! Awww, thank you so much. We are so glad we found you all and that your floor project is done so you can blog again. Lately, your posts have been super interesting about the kitty 🙂
I do believe Emma would be proud of how you have carried on. Congratulations and i wish you many more happy years of blogging.
Thank you. As long as we like it and people like our blog we will keep going.
Happy Blogging! !2 years- wow!
It is a lot of years. Only the cat is old enough to remember the beginning.
Oh my gosh, 12 years already??! For us it’s getting close to 13, though we’ve evolved too with a new name in Callie’s honor. Losing Ducky was totally devastating and really broke my heart; but she sent me Zen so it’s like starting out new now. I miss their daddy, too; but he’s watching over Zen and me. So I’ll keep our blog going, too, for all of them. And for Zen and me.
BTW, the Olewo dehydrated carrots you reviewed a few years ago? They helped me help Zen transition off the horrible food he was eating in the beginning. Bogie wouldn’t eat them last year, but he was a picky puppy at times. Zen loves whatever I give him. I should try the beets for him and see what happens. 😊
We feel so bad for the losses you have had to deal with recently. It must be so very hard for you. Thank you for being a good blogging friend. If you try the beets, get the dehydrated celery too, it is also great for dogs. Mom mixes all three together and we get a tbsp with our dinner every night.
Congratulations on reaching a huge milestone. Continued success and fun!
Thank you. It is hard to believe it has been that long.
