We’re thankful for the first real snow of the year at our house! Can you see I’m bursting with happiness as I gallop through the white stuff? It snowed for three days, but only light snow, so we only have a couple inches. It is enough to play around in for us.
Squirrel hunting has been our main activity. Sometimes it is a pack thing. Since Mom put out some squirrel food last week, those brazen critters are showing up a lot. We enjoy tracking them with the hope of finding one.
We are all perimeter monitors. Those critters often run along the fence line, creating great smells in the area.
Nelson is loving his first real taste of snow. He can sniff along and track as good as the rest of us. My goodness, he is one long fellow, isn’t he?
Bailie always scoops up some snow on her jet black nose. It looks funny to us, but she says she doesn’t care at all.
Nelson is a smart little guy. He knows the squirrels are up in the trees looking for food. He always stretches himself real long to try to get a good whiff of them.
Madison always has the best snow puss of the family for some reason. Even when the first real snow of the year is not a whole lot, it attaches nicely to her beard.
Bailie knows to check the leaves under the snow for hiding critters. You never know when you may find one hiding out.
Nelson really enjoys the cold air and snow. Look at his cute smile as he runs along chasing something, who knows what it might be.
I’m pretty happy about the snow too. Cold air gives us all so much more energy and a new season means new fun outside too. We are all thankful for the arrival of winter.
My GBGV Life is joining Brianβs Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I am so envious! It’s been cold here and we’ve gotten nasty rain but no snow. Your photos are fabulous!
Thank you. It is still snowing but just light snow so it is only a few inches after over three days. Still, we are enjoying what we have. It will probably melt next week when the temps go up again.
Snow holds smells! Very nice to look at and play in. We are thankful that we live in a place that doesn’t get snow!
We will enjoy our snow for you. The cold sends the odors down, so we are always sticking our heads into the snow.
Hooray! Enjoy the snow!! And Nelson is one loooong hound!!!! We love these photos. Have a great day your friends Chester and Lilly
It will probably melt next week but it will be fun as long as it lasts! We need to be in Buffalo, they are really going to get some good snow.
I do remember snow, and I loved π β€οΈ it! You could go to Buffalo and stomp on them some more because they are getting lots of snow βοΈ XOXO Sparkle
We wish we were in Buffalo, or the area there so we could really get snow, but we are not headed over there.
Run like the wind!!
Nelson looks like you are giving something in the tree a piece of your mind!!
I, too, heard parts of the northeast around Buffalo, NY are expecting 4′ of snow. That is just dang scary.
Hugs Cecilia
We are all jealous, including Mom. She was here for the 1991 Halloween blizzard with 3 feet and she loved that. It was one of the biggest blizzards ever in our area.
What a wonderful thankful. I know how much you all want to romp in the snow. You made me smile.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
It has been a fun few days and we are all pretty tired from all the outdoor snow fun!
Keep it there please!!! Northern Michigan got hit like you, but thankfully, we haven’t!!
Mom didn’t like living in the Detroit area because it was too warm and not much snow. We take all we can get our paws on.
Hooray for winter!
Yep, we are loving it!
Not much is better that seeing those happy pup snow faces. Our doggies use to love to play and romp in the snow, we miss them. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Sadly, most kitties are not bit snow fans, but you have an awesome set of kitties right now.
WHAT fun!!!
Say “no to B’ffalo” right now … we wouldn’t even be able to see you having fun in all they have now … well, maybe you
could make tunnels in it!
We would trample a path from the deck to the back of the yard. Actually, the yard would be at deck level, LOL!
