I’m taking a look back at my year 2022 today. Every year, during New Year’s week we look back at what we each have done. Since there are now four of us and some have accomplished a lot, we decided to each take our own day to post about our year. Mom loves doing things in “seniority order”, so I get to start being the oldest sibling.
I’m at a fork in the road with a lot of my sports right now. Mom says I’m basically done with Barn Hunt because I really don’t like it. Scent Work and Nose Work are questionable as I haven’t been doing my part in the trials I’ve entered. At home I love it and do great. We are deciding if I will keep training and keep trying or just forget it. FastCAT I do love, but I am not retired from that sport. We’ll see what Mom decides to do with me in 2023. I’m not a sports nut like my siblings, so I would be fine staying home.
Back in September, I took my first road trip in a very long time. Mom wanted to see if maybe I would enjoy traveling, but of course, I did not. We were gone for five days, me, Olivia, and Nelson, out to Montana and back. It seemed like five years to me! I added three new states, North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming to my states visited list, bringing my total to twenty four.
We saw some really fun sites while on the road, and I had a nose work trial in Montana which I totally bombed. Mom was not pleased, but she quickly remembered why she doesn’t travel with me, LOL!
My biggest accomplishment in year 2022 is my DCAT Title. I earned my BCAT in 2021. Mom was determined that I would earn the DCAT this year and I did. I entered quite a few FastCAT trials in order to get my points. Since I am not very fast it takes a long time to get to five hundred with fifteen to seventeen points a run. Luckily, there were a lot of local trials this year. Mom said I would not need to be in the car more than ninety minutes.
The ribbon I earned for my title is gorgeous and we are super happy I have the title and such a nice ribbon. There are only thirteen GBGV’s that have run three or more FastCAT runs and only four have earned their DCAT titles, three of which are me, Madison, and Olivia, so I feel pretty special. Because I have had some limping issues after a few runs, I am officially retired from FastCAT.
2022 was a good year overall for me, and I look forward to seeing what we end up doing in 2023.
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
It looks like you had a great year to me, Bailie, and that is one very beautiful ribbon!
Compared to what I usually do, things are pretty sparse, but it isn’t so important to me I guess. Maybe in 2023 I will do more sniffing. Time will tell.
You had a great year. You accomplished so much including getting mom to realize you hate traveling.
She knows I hate the car, but she thought maybe I could enjoy a good road trip with Olivia and Nelson. That is not the case, and I also despise trialing when it is as hot as a blast furnace. If I continued to do some nose work trials, they will be local.
You had a very good year. Not every dog is into sports; perhaps there are other fun things for you to do that are not competitive. Maybe you would like to read with kids in the library? Or just play games at home.
I’m pretty much happy being home. Mom and Gramma say I would be an ideal therapy dog, but Mom has no interest in any therapy dog stuff. I may continue to do some sniffing, we will see.
BOL BOL Bailie I love the 2nd photo!!! It made my Tuesday happier!!
I hope you and Mom can sort out 2023 so that you are all doing what you do best and having fun
Hugs Cecilia
It’s pretty easy to figure it out with my siblings, but I can be difficult. Most likely I will try some sniffing trials that are local and maybe take a few lessons to get me back on track but we will see.
What a fabulous year you’ve had, Miss Bailie. Thank you for letting me tag along
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful mom. β₯
I am a lucky hound getting to do and see so many things but I am also a difficult hound. We will see how I feel about sniffing next year.
Miss Bailie you ARE special! Some pups just don’t enjoy traveling and that’s ok. Some humans don’t enjoy it either. You’ve had a great year with your FastCAT; and you have a title and beautiful ribbon to prove it. I’m sure you’ll do great with whatever you choose to do in 2023!
Mom says I’m the difficult child but she gets it as she too can be difficult. I’m happy with what I have accomplished so far in sports and travel. We will see if I feel like entering any sniffing trials in 2023 or not.
You always look like you are having so much fun sweet Bailie but if you have more home staying home then you should do that. You did have a terrific year though!
I know I won’t be traveling except around home, but I don’t know if I still want to compete or not.
Miss Bailie, you are your own dog! that is the most special thing to remember! I LOVE your photos!!
I am always my own dog and it can make my mom a bit crazy sometimes.
Congrats on a good year, Bailie. Here’s to a pawsome 2023.
Thank you. We will see if I decide to try for some more sniffing titles or not.
so very proud of you, i know how hard it is for you to travel to all of those events. however, you made it through and did a have a great year. Maybe a flying saucer could get you to those events without any problems and much faster.
Mom is going to keep me local and we will see what if any events I decide to enter in 2023.
Bailie! you too made some terrific accomplishments this year and, most impawtant, you are one incredible sister! Not all sisters want to be the winner, they are most interested in seeing that their siblings excel and are happy when they see their siblings happy. Keep being amazing! Purrs Marv
I enjoy doing well, but I am not very worried about winning. I just enjoy doing things with my mom, win or lose.
