We all love a good walk in a snowstorm at our house. Being National Walk Your Dog Month, we decided to post about it. This week we had another snowstorm and got about fourteen inches of snow over two days. It is beautiful out with everything covered in snow! We are up and out before sunrise, thus the different color in the photos.
Since we received a huge load overnight, nothing much was plowed when Bailie went out for her walk. It was still snowing too.
This is the view of our backyard. It is so peaceful and magical after a good snow, before the world wakes up. Mom shoveled the deck about five times before this photo was taken.
The snow overnight is more wet snow, so you know what that means! Yep, snowballs. Bailie got a lot of them on her morning walk. All of us girls get a lot of them, but for some reason, Nelson only gets about half as many.
Olivia was also out early, but they had plowed our street before she was out. Since it was still snowing, there is a fresh coating of powder on the road but it is pretty easy to walk on.
She walked with Mom to the main road to see if the walkway had been plowed yet, but that was a definite, NO. Not only is it covered in fresh snow, but the plows on the main road threw more snow from the road onto the path. They did end up plowing the walkways later in the day.
Things look so different covered in snow. The mailboxes look so cute with their snow hats on.
By the time Nelson and I got to walk in the snowstorm, it was light out, but the main road we wanted to walk on was not plowed. We know how to walk in single file in tire tracks to make it easier. Walking in the snow is a really good workout, that is for sure. Once we get back home, our tummies are ready for breakfast!
We will leave you with another beautiful, snow frosted tree. Don’t let a little snow stop you from walking with your dog. Get out there and enjoy it. It is always fun to walk in a snowstorm, even if things haven’t been plowed. At our house, we are thankful for all the seasons, but especially a snowy winter season!

Your snow is sooooooooo beautiful! Those snowballs in your furs are such a pain to remove. Mom saw on fb that a kitchen wisk works great but we haven’t tried it yet. Our temps have been too mild for January.
It is a bit too warm here too, so we have had mist mixed in with the snow, but overall, our new 14 inches of snow are wonderful! It’s still snowing, but should stop this morning sometime.
Itβs really beautiful but as I said yesterday. I donβt know how you do it.
We all love it. It is so pretty and winter is a lot of fun. Mom’s only regret is that she isn’t supposed to shovel much snow anymore, so she had to get a snow blower.
Beautiful! I suspect one reason Nelson doesn’t get as many snowballs as the girls is because he is longer and hotter- blooded, so the snow has a chance to melt before it hits his back legs, LOL!
LOL! His furs are different from ours. He really has a wire coat and it doesn’t curl when it gets wet either. Very practical actually.
Wow! That is pretty to look at; We are California dogs, though, and all we get in winter is rain – and that isn’t all that fun to walk in. And Mia would absolutely get lost in that snow!
Katie, Mom’s Kuvasz looked great in all the snow! We dislike rain here, but snow is fun, at least we think it is. It is not for everyone.
How beautiful!! Sunny and I are with you, walks in the snow are the best! Unfortunately, we haven’t had any big snowstorms yet so we enjoy watching your walks!

We are waiting to see snow photos from you guys. Hope you get some white stuff soon. We are good for a little while, so you can have some of the next batch that comes along.
WOW!! You have had waaaaaaay more snow than we have had so far this year!! I have to say, it IS pretty!
We got about 17 inches altogether. It is gorgeous and we are all super happy to have so much.
Wow, that is a lot of snow. please be safe. Don’t get lost in the snow piles, especially Madison. Those roads don’t look to plowed to me. Hope you are not planning to go anywhere. .
That was early in the morning. It takes time for things to get plowed out. Mom doesn’t go out until things are plowed. The neighborhood streets are always worse than the other roads.
OMDs those are some gorgeous albeit very chilly photos.
Do you shake off the snow on your chest or does it have to melt
Hugs Cecilia
Mom rubs off as much as she can and the rest melts. It is kind of a wet mess with us and our snowballs.
I’m glad your weather is “puppy perfect!”
It is an ideal winter for our family for sure! We haven’t had this much snow this early in the season in thirty years.
WOW, that was some snow storm and I’m glad you enjoyed that white stuff. Our Dad remembers our doggies loved to play in big snows when they lived in WV. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Snow is what we love about winter and lately we haven’t had all that much but this year is perfect so far in our opinion!
H.o.l.y. C.o.w! That’s some kind of amazing snow.
Yep, we have had around 4 ft total so far this winter. It is a lot for this early in the year but we love it.
