How does a French hound boy go shopping for his first birthday? Well, I recently figured that out. Mom said, “Come on Nelson, let’s go to the Three Dog Bakery and find treats for your first birthday party.” Off we went, and as always, it was a marvelous sniffing adventure.
Everyone in my family loves to go to the bakery! We only ever go one at a time because there is so much to sniff, it is easier that way. Right inside the door my nose came upon the first goodies. I sniffed them over really well.
Oh my dog, look at all these rawhides. Mom doesn’t buy them for us, but it can’t hurt to sniff them a little bit. We do have plenty of other chews at home, so we are not deprived.
Way up high, they have other chews that look like rawhide but they are not. They smell really yummy.
Oh, whoops, I am supposed to be looking for birthday treats for my party. I better look in the display case for those. Mom says we probably have to order them.
Look over here, they have Vikings jerseys! I would really like one to wear for the Super Bowl. Mom said, “no”, to that idea. I guess we have enough Vikings attire already and she says they won’t be in the Super Bowl…party pooper, Mom!
What should a guy serve his sisters for his first birthday? Hmmm…I think I know what I would like to get. On the way to the check out counter I got distracted by the car deodorizers. They smell pretty good. Maybe we should get some?
I know what I would like to serve at my party, I just have to put in my order. As we thought, they have to make them special because I like certain colors and we would like them personalized. Good thing we came early so they have time to get them ready! You all will have to wait until next week to see what I picked out. I’m getting so excited, my day is not far away!
What a fun shop to visit and we can’t wait to see what you picked out for your birthday, Nelson!
We had to order it, so I’m getting excited to be able to pick it up.
oooh how great…. that is super to buy your gifts with your own paws! don’t furget da ack ack gun… and da sardines in oil ;O)
Mom says no to sardines because she couldn’t even open the can without feeling sick, LOL!
What an exciting shopping trip!
It is always exciting at that bakery. All the smells and the people fawning all over me. I love it!
Whatever you chose, we think you chose well, Nelson! We bet it is a large bone cake! Do we get a prize (or piece) if we are right? Jimmy & Olive – your Missouri GBGV fan club
I never thought about a prize for someone guessing correctly. Maybe next time I’m in MO I could bring you some but it may be a while.
We wonder if you ordered small bones –one for each of your sisters and in their colors!! We can’t wait to see. That was an awesome trip!! We loved all the pictures. have a great Friday! your friends Lilly and Chester
I wish you guys were here because I would have you at my party π The only clue I will give you is that since it is my birthday, lime green will be there.
Looks like you had a great time shopping. I know my Alex would go crazy in there!
(Go Vikes!!)
It is an amazing place. If only I could leave my mom outside, it would be even more fun!
We would like one of those shops out here….We know whatever you choose will be delightful.
BTW those no-hide chews are really delicious. Our mom gives us one when she has lots of work to do.
They are really good and they take us a lot of time to chew on too. Much better than rawhide.
You sure have the best place to go and pick out yummy treats and we can’t wait to see what you picked out!
Everything they have is so yummy, it is really hard to decide what to get.
Wow Nelson, we don’t know if we could walk out of there without getting a little taste of everything!!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
PeeEss…Good luck to your Vikings on Sunday!
I did get to do a lot of tasting which is awesome but I didn’t get to buy any of the other things I enjoyed sniffing. It is a great place to go. I have my paws crossed for the Vikings, my sisters say it will be a disaster, but I’m optimistic.
It’s always fun to see what you got at the Three Dogs Bakery! If that place was near here, i’d have to bring Coda.
We dogs love to go there and they love it when we come by. Coda would definitely have a good time.
Shopping for one’s self is a doggone pawsome idea and no doubt you picked some ‘gnawtastic’ choices.
I pretty much wanted one of everything!
So many awesome choices! Copper and Max wish we had that store here, but they’d definitely have to go one at a time too. π We can’t wait to see what you chose, Nelson!
The big day is only two more sleeps away.
