It’s time to party! Yesterday we celebrated my first birthday with a family party. I got to celebrate birthdays with Bailie and Madison, but this is the first time the party was for me. Having a birthday party is very exciting!
A while ago, Mom and I went to the bakery to order my birthday treats or cake. After doing some extensive taste testing, I decided on some fun cookies for my party. Mom also ordered me a party hat in lime and blue and I have my necktie to wear. It’s obvious Mom has had parties before because she knows all the things we need.
We ordered my cookies with lime green and yellow frosting. I got the big one with my name on it and my sisters each got a balloon bouquet with the number one and a paw print. Mom found decorations with lots of polka dots, some of them lime green. We did have one big problem, the cookies smelled really good. Even Mom wanted to taste one, but she didn’t. She put them away so no one could steal them before my party.
On my birthday afternoon, we had my party, just me and my sisters. We all sat properly at the table with our party hats and waited patiently for some photos and finally my birthday treats.
Mom served up the cookies and told us we could dig in. Dig in we did, some faster than others, uh um, Olivia…
Madison is the exact opposite of Olivia. She savors everything she eats and really takes her time. My party was no exception.
This is rather embarrassing, but I had some trouble eating my cookie. It was big and I didn’t know how to go about eating it. For a short time I watched how my sisters were eating their cookies.
Hey Bailie, I see you have your cookie in small pieces. How did you make that happen? She is nice to me, and I didn’t attempt to steal her cookie, so she told me to crunch mine to get pieces.
Should I really pick it up and crunch it into small pieces? It is so cute but I guess it must be done.
No, I could not crunch it, but I love the taste of it in my mouth. Maybe my mom will break it up for me. My cookie is making me happy, but I would be happier if I could eat it.
Meanwhile, everyone is finishing up their cookies, and I think Olivia has her eyes on my cookie. She would never steal from me, would she? Nah…
Olivia is a happy camper and has finished her cookie first. No surprise there. She snarfs everything down normally.
Mom did help me with my cookie and I finished half of it. Then I thought I better make sure Bailie didn’t have any leftovers, and she did not. She sure is a nice big sister to me, probably the nicest one that I have!
After a quick snuggle, I finished the rest of my cookie finally. What a shame I only got one cookie for each of us. I guess we will have to wait for Olivia’s birthday in March for some more tasty bakery goods. My party was lots of fun and I had a great time celebrating being one. Stay tuned for tomorrow when we have a few birthday bloopers for you.

What a fabulous pawty you had, Nelson, and the four of you are so well-behaved at the birthday table together!
Mom was a bit worried because when Nelson did some shots on his own, he was a hot mess and she had no idea how she could get all of us to be nice but we did it and on the first try.
your hat is just super! happy happy birthday bestest hound of da world
Thank you, boys. I wish I could learn about some fun stuff from you two.
Happy Birthday, Nelson!

What a great story. Thank dog mom was there to help you
Eat your cookie. Happy birthday
Mom is quite surprised I was being so shy with my cookie because normally I’m a food monster and I snarf up everything I can find.
What a celebration fit for da Man of da house Nelson.
All 4 of you have the best table manners…better than many humans I see eating out in cafes.
Hugs cecilia
LOL, you are funny! We always complain about hotels not allowing dogs, but they allow kids for no extra fee. Who is more loud and makes a bigger mess??? We are well mannered for the most part and we like it that way.
Wow! A polite boy with manners! He is definitely a keeper! Those cookies looked delish. My mom needs to do something like that for my sister, Puffin. She has a March birthday too! XOXI, Sparkle
We will see what Olivia decides to do for her party. I’m sure you and Puffin would love something from a dog bakery. They must have some kind of dog bakery not too far from you.
What a pawsome pawty, and your birthday cookies look very yummy!!
xoxo,
Rosy
The party was fun and the cookies were super tasty!
Nelson! What a SPECIAL first birthday party you had! Your Mom DEFINITELY knows how to celebrate birthdays! I love how all of you sat so politely at the table! I am glad that Mom helped you with that cookie too! These photos are just the cutest and thank you for sharing with us! Happy Birthday again Nelson! xoxo
I had a funtastic first birthday and am ready to get on with being one and see what all I can do this coming year.
What a fun birthday party you had! All of you are so well-mannered. Yes, some of those beautiful cookies are pretty big, but you will have it figured out for the next party.
Mom still can’t believe I didn’t know what to do with my cookie, but she helped and I will get it next time.
We love the cookies you picked! They are so pretty and look sooo delicious. Chester asked me about how you were going to eat the cookie! Just like you asked Bailie! Such a nice big cookie. Your sister Olivia eats like me! gobble it up! We think these pictures are wonderful and it looks like your birthday party was perfect. What will year two hold for you! happy birthday again and again! your friends Lilly and Chester
Usually I grab and eat, so Mom was surprised I didn’t know how to eat my cookie, but I will have it down for next year. My day was a fun day. Hope you two and your mom have a fun weekend!
That was so much fun Nelson, we were smiling all the way though. I’m glad you enjoyed your yummy cookie!!! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Wow! Do you guys ever have good manners! Kozmo, Jo Jo and Cinnamon don’t. (Mom says they lived alone with Dad too long while she was working. I am totally impressed! Keep being awesome guys! Purrs Marv
