Mom recently showed Nelson how to build his very own Minnesota Man Cave. We have so much snow, it is a shame to let it go to waste by not using it for fun activities. Now that the little man is a year old, why not build his very own spot? How is it done? Nelson will show you. Emma enjoyed building caves for herself too.
How To Build A Minnesota Man Cave
Step One – The Perfect Snow Pile
This is the heart of your new cave, so find just the right pile with enough space and snow to build out your dream. At out house, the snow piles under the deck work really well.
Step Two – Fire Up Your Paws For Digging
A hound has to dig out the cave with his own paws. Make sure and start low on the pile so you have enough space to expand. It needs to be a big opening so you can go in and out without ruining the entrance.
Step Three – Dig Deep And Wide
There is really a lot of digging involved! A guy has to dig down, then dig out the roof, and make it wide enough too. Because Nelson is so long, he needs an extra wide den so he can turn around in it.
Step Four – Check Your Cave For Size Often
As you are digging, you may think your Minnesota Man Cave is big enough, but you need to be sure. Stop digging and see if you can fit inside of it comfortably. It’s your cave, so it needs to be your size.
Step Five – Don’t Forget To Post The Sign
This is your man cave, built by you, just for you. It is a MAN cave which means no girls. Be sure to post no girls or no sisters to keep them out of your property.
Once the digging is complete, climb in and enjoy. Don’t worry about the fact that your favorite sister Olivia isn’t allowed in your den. Simply ignore her pathetic and sad sniffing around, feeling left out. It is your Minnesota Man Cave! Enjoy because it won’t last forever.
