It’s Dr Seuss Day 2023 today and I’m sharing my Seuss-isms with you. My sisters said the new pup always does this post their first year, so here I am. Last year I was with my birth family and only six weeks old. This year I get the special job!
The original book Is a guide to life for those just starting out…and those already on their way. I’m kind of just starting out. My first year I dabbled in starting out, but now that I am one, all the restrictions are lifted. Are you ready?
Nelson’s Seuss-isms – by Nelson
Be True To Yourself
You have brains in your head
you have paws on the ground.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own and you know what you know.
YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go!
Bark the truth
Stop barking at such outlandish things.
Stop barking at things that are not there.
Bark loudly when you feel
it’s something that is a big deal.
Nose Work Focus
This is not a time for play,
this is where work becomes fun.
Don’t clown around,
there is sniffing work to be done.
Take Chances
If you never try,
you will never know,
is your limit the sky,
or how far can you go?
Try New Things
Getting out of your comfy shell
will serve you well.
Put one paw
in front of the other
and soon you’ll be doing more
of things you never thought of before.
When you are done,
you’ll find you had a lot of fun.
Be Grateful
If you are feeling bad
don’t start to get mad.
Your life isn’t yucky
you are actually quite lucky!
Many dogs don’t have half the life
you do!
Get out there, embrace the world, see new places, smell new smells, try new things, be nice to others! You will find out what a wonderful life you have and don’t forget to take your mom along on the journey! Happy Dr Seuss Day 2023. I hope you enjoyed my small version of Seuss-isms. Nelson

You did a pawsome job, Nelson!!!
Thank you.
You are very smart, young dog. You’ll go to great places.
I hope to go lots of places and do lots of great things.
wow, i am so impressed, these were just wonderful. It would be nice if we could all travel the world like your family. i used to do more when i was younger and care free, no dogs to worry about. I would go out of the country at least 1-2 times a year, never to the same place. I traveled a lot with the horses, but rarely saw anything other than the show grounds. cant leave your horses alone.
Mom traveled the world with her family as a child, then she was a flight attendant for 11 years, lived in Europe for 10 years and now all she wants to do is travel by car with us pups. We are taking a break from it for a while, but we will travel now and then. It’s fun to see different places.
