Daylight saving time is no fun! Why in the world do people think they need to mess with clocks? The morning after setting the clocks ahead an hour is really awful. Sure, it is just an hour, but if feels like several hours of lost sleep. Thankfully, I had nothing planned on Sunday. Despite being jolted out of bed at what felt like three in the morning, I could nap all day.
Since Nelson had a nose work trial Sunday we had to get up at four in order for Mom to take care of us all, herself, and be on the road to get to the trial on time. Four is like three the first days of the time change and it is not fun! Madison hopped out of bed and found a cozy bed downstairs to rest in while everyone was busy doing the morning things.
Olivia refused to get up. She likes to pretend she doesn’t hear what Mom is saying to her. Since she isn’t doing nose work this weekend, she is kind of crabby and refused to get out of bed. Eventually, Mom got her up and moving, at least downstairs to eat breakfast.
Nelson says daylight saving time is a day wrecker. He was super excited for his first NACSW Nose Work Trial but getting up so early was not something he had thought about. The little man tried to hide from Mom but that was a big fail. He ended up going to his trial all day and working his nose. The rest of us got to stay home, put our paws up, and snooze.
Does anyone know why the government doesn’t just vote to put an end to this senseless changing of time twice a year. It really isn’t necessary and we are sure the people would vote to have it stopped. Have a great week even if you are tired out!

we feel just like Olivia looks. Beau has to wait two hours for his early am walk, because i will not walk in the dark, we are early risers and now the 6:30 walk is 7:30. we are not happy
We love walking in the dark in the morning, so that isn’t a problem. Losing the hour is a problem!
We are in total agreement with you but some peeps like it to stay light out until 9pm. WHY??!!
We don’t like that either because we like to go to bed early around here.
Oh we agree!!! Mom exercises at 5:30 in the morning during the week. So this morning was crazy! Usually we go out at 5 and
then snooze until breakfast. And usually we are up and at em with Momβs alarm. But not this morning! Yeesh. that was way too early. We agree β vote for stopping this insanity!! Have a good day. Your friends Lilly and Chester
That getting up in the morning is tough. Mom has to toss us out too!
darling photos and I totally agree with you. I once heard it was the farmers who didn’t want it changed but I could have easily heard that incorrectly. I frankly prefer “fall back” but I know almost everyone else prefers gaining the hour of daylight.
Actually, we like the fall back as well. It would be so nice to end the nonsense!
We like daylight! But sleeping in we also like very much! How did the little man do in his nosework trials? He likes to just like my sister Olive does!
He did great. Mom was super happy but today when she got to thinking about it she was even more happy because she forgets how young he really is, just 13 months. He’ll be posting about his day on Thursday.
It’s kind of like jet lag…it takes me a day to get accustomed to the time change and Lucy will nap all day as well.
It is a bit like that, except when we travel there is often an hour difference that doesn’t bother us. Mom moved back from Europe years ago with two dogs and the young one, just 10 months old, had big jet lag issues. She was all messed up for about a week we heard.
I am totally confused and exhausted because of this time thing! It messes with my head! XOXO, Sparkle
We say it is just a mess. Not for us. Just pick one and stick with it.
I love it. Clover let me sleep till 7 AM before she wanted her breakfast.
We never wake up Mom, she always has to wake us up, even when the time changes. The cat is the only one that wakes anyone up sometimes.
I hear you. It’s messed us up here something awful. Our morning schedule is completely messed up. It’s stressful.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
It is stressful and because one is tired, it is even more stressful.
My what a myriad of responses to the time change! I must say Nelson’s was the most inventive. I hear the U.S. is mullimg over doing away with the time changes. If they do, so will Canada. It would be so much less disruptive.
They have been considering it for a few years now. It is a simple decision, just knock it off and leave the clocks alone. Who knows it they will ever do that.
we totally understand you… and we bet we will look da same in 14 days….
At least you all get like a month more of the time, we barely get ours changed and have to change them back.
Oh you doggies are so adorable ~ take an extra nap ~ great photos ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

We are good at napping and have been practicing our napping skills today.
We are with you all…the only good thing about this is we get to eat an hour earlier!

We don’t even get that because our mealtime is variable every day.
Out here in California, we VOTED to do away with this clock nonsense a couple of years ago. But all that is happening is a bunch of people talking about it. Science has found that messing with the time is bad for everyone’s health. We hope this will be the last time we have to do this.
It’s not necessary and not healthy for any living being. It needs to go!
I know why they don’t vote on it, because politicians are idiots. Our State voted to repeal it several years ago but it requires congressional approval before it can go into effect…there ya go. We sure don’t like it either.
Politicians are so worthless. Time change needs to go!
I personally don’t care which time – standard or daylight saving – they make permanent, as long as they choose one. But like every other year of these last 20 or so years, neither side of the aisle in Congress can agree on ANYTHING EXCEPT that they disagree on EVERYTHING. Personally, I am so da*n tired of their petty, self-centered BS that I refuse to listen to any of it any more. That’s why I get the 1440 news email every morning. It’s news without motives or noise. And, I can always click on the link to read more of any story.
We don’t believe in politics or politicians at our house. They make tons of money and don’t do anything except argue and refuse to do things for the good of the people! We are fine with any time too. Just leave it alone and stop switching back and forth.
Some people love having the extra daylight at the end of the day. I say, next time we set the clocks by a half hour, splitting the difference, and leaving it there!
I hope Nelson had fun and did well.
We don’t care either way as long as we can stop changing the time twice a year. It is ridiculous. Everyone will adjust to whatever time is selected.
We still feel a bit hungover from this time switch and hope it’s the last time we have to endure this artificial and useless time change. π€πΌ
We hope that every time we change the clocks but politicians can’t seem to figure it out to stop it.
