A classroom in nature is a beautiful thing. Right now I am going to Madison’s nose work class to get some more experience under my furry belt. Madison is working on sniffing with Mom at home. The other night, class was at a pretty park. We all walked around the pond stopping for nose work searches at various locations along the way. It makes for great exercise, and it keeps everyone pretty relaxed.
The weather wasn’t all that hot out, but my tongue was still trying to hit the ground. Mom says I must simply enjoy panting! While I wait for my turn, Mom loves to take photos, so we decided to post a couple. Searching in the park is really good distraction training for me. I need to learn to ignore all the smells and focus on finding odor. There were a lot of people, including kids in the park. I also need to ignore them and focus on my work. Mom said I did really well, especially for my age.
At the end of the night, I went up to take a look at the splash pad thing. Water isn’t my thing, I’ve never even been swimming, but it did look like a refreshing place. The hour class flew by, I guess because we were so busy having fun. Lots of my sniffing trials have searches outside and in wooded areas. Now I have some more practice getting right to work and learning to ignore the other stuff. A classroom in nature is a good thing. Hopefully we will have more classes outside if it isn’t too hot.

You’re going to do just fine and ace this searching stuff, Nelson. Time and practice!
I need to keep getting more experience through practice but I do know what I am doing.
that is a super fab school… and we are sure you will learn the best things there… you are anyway a super talent in nose work because of your famous breed…
I’m just learning more about how odor travels and stuff and outside is different from inside.
Nice of Madison to let you take her place in class. Mom likes to take pictures and you all are excellent at posing.
Oh my Dogs that splash pad looks so very inviting.
Hugs Cecilia
Madison would like to go to her own class, but Mom decided it would be good to take me for a while instead and she is working with Madison at home.
Nature is the very best classrooms. Beautiful.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯

Thank you. We have to search outside a lot in our trials, so it is good for me to practice outside.
We love class outside!! Yay!! That tongue of yours is amazing!! your friends Lilly and Chester
I hear that a lot. It is always hanging out the side of my mouth, even when it isn’t all that hot out, but it doesn’t bother me.
Aww. I am definitely partial to dogs!
Thank you. We are at our house too.
Nelson is such a handsome fellow.
Every time I come home from walking a dog at the shelter, Lucy sniffs me like, “Who you been with?” I just tell her she’s a lucky dog to have full-time humans looking after her every need.
We give Mom a sniffover too, and also when she takes only some of us somewhere we want to smell where everyone was.
I’m glad you had a good time! That splash pad thing sounds like fun, even if it is a water thingy!
I might like it, but having never been swimming or in a sprinkler, I am not sure.
Looks like fun!
Class was really fun!
That does look like a lovely and fun place to have a class, I hope you get to go often.
Hopefully we will get to go to more places outdoors if the heat would go away.
Wow!! Outside class looks like loads of fun!!

It was a sniffin good time!
I think itβs wonderful that you get to do sons many sports outside in beautiful surroundings. Healthy and beautiful.
Variety is the spice of life or in this case, sports. We got lucky to not be in oppressive heat and humidity for our runs.
Looks like a peaceful spot to visit.
It’s a nice quiet area right in the midst of a shopping area, but you would never know it.
