There is a new DCAT in town! I, Mr. Nelson, earned my second title in FastCAT last weekend. It was a Grand weekend for me overall, and I love my new big and fancy ribbon!
The trial was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Cambridge, at the Isanti County Fairgrounds. We go there in June for Barn Hunt and sometimes FastCAT, but this time it was all about racing.
Olivia is a speed hound, and her body is made for speed. I am more heavy and low, so Mom said I might never hit nineteen miles an hour. Well, I took that as a challenge and in five of my six runs I made new personal records for speed. On my last run, I hit nineteen point forty six miles an hour, almost a mile an hour faster than on my first run! Mom is now challenging me to hit twenty miles an hour and I may just do it in a few weeks. Olivia runs almost twenty three miles an hour, so I won’t make that but I think I can hit twenty, and I will try.
Nelson is nuts about FastCAT and does not like to wait for his turn! Impatient hound! #FastCAT #GBGV #dogsports pic.twitter.com/9W87MHydIl

I have also figured out this sport and I am nuts about it. I’ve gotten totally out of control while waiting to run. Other dogs get to run before me and I don’t like it. We need a person to release me so Mom can catch me at the other end. Now we have had a few people tell us they can’t because I am so strong and crazy. It is all about my drive and some dogs are like I am. We posted a nine second clip of me going wild on Twitter which you can see here.
Now that I have my new DCAT Title, my points will all be going towards my FCAT Title which I hope to earn sometime next summer. I need five hundred points to get that one. At least I have a start now with some forty points from after my DCAT Sunday. Olivia has her FCAT2, and Madison should get her FCAT2 soon as well. Mom is very happy that I love this sport so much and a happy mom is a good thing for a pup!

Congratulations, Nelson, and that’s a beautiful ribbon! We can see on your video how anxious you are to take off!
I have no patience in this sport. Mom says it is difficult and a bit embarrassing, but it is also good because I am highly motivated.
Uh, Nelson, we can tell from the video, and…, your mom is right – you are HIGHLY MOTIVATED!
Absolutely nuts is another thing she likes to call my exuberance, LOL!
