Today I’m thankful for one decade of Gotcha Days! It’s hard to believe it is already ten years ago that I came to live with my mom. Actually, my Gotcha Day is September 11th, but Emma was always irritated having to share her day with me. Out of respect, I thought I would post about it today instead. Here is the tale of how Ethos Irish Cream, aka Bailie, landed her family!
I come from a litter of fourteen puppies, all of us survived which is a miracle in itself. My breeder brought me and two of my sisters up to meet my future mom. She said she could adopt one of us if it seemed like a good fit. Of course, I am the goofball on my back. Talk about not knowing how to make a good impression!
Emma came out in the yard to check us all out. This photo is my first time meeting her. She seemed fairly nice, but I was not sure and she wasn’t sure about me either.
I also met my new sister Katie. She too was quite curious about me and neither of us was sure what we should do.
Most important was making a good impression with my prospective new mom. I actually became a big cuddle bug with her. Over and over again, I would settle into her lap. My sisters would come and jump all over me and Mom so I would leave. Mom is smart and she figured out the game. The other two were pushy and I was simply snugly. Thankfully, she loves to snuggle and it won me a new home!
Now I have a new home, my breeder and sisters left and I have to admit it was frightening. How would this new family work out for me? Being only twelve weeks old and never away from my dog family is a big step for a little one.
Mom had me pose with my new sisters for a photo. This should have been a clue that photos would become a huge part of my life. I have never really minded modeling, luckily.
The entire day really tuckered me out and I crashed once we got in the house. I’ve had a decade of Gotcha Days and have no regrets at all. I love my mom and my family. Being adopted by her is the best thing that could have happened to me.
I’m looking forward to many more years with my current, crazy family.

Happy 10th anniversary and that last photo has melted my heart into a puddle on the floor
Awww, thank you. We are French hounds and we each have our own color for sports, so berets in our colors are fitting π
Happy Gotcha Day, Bailie! We loved seeing all of your adorable puppy pictures!
I don’t look at all like myself, but it was really me.
Gotcha Days are one of the best days (second, of course, to birthdays!). You are part of an amazing family!
Thank you. I’m pretty happy here in my family and I am really close to my mom.
If Iβm reading the story right I think you adopted her. She didnβt adopt you. Happy gotcha day.
I insisted on cuddling on Mom’s lap which she just loved, so it was kind of a mutual thing I guess. I still cuddle with her a lot and give my huggles.
Happy Happy 10th Gotcha Day to a precious Purple Girl Bailie
Hugs Cecilia

We are a fun and happy family.
Happy Gotcha Day x 10! So happy that you two chose each other!
It is a very good thing.
happy gotcha day dear abilie… we loved to see emma and katie… we sometimes see a kuvasz and we immediately think about you… sadly we can not say hello, the pup tries to eat us ;O)))
A lot of Kuvasz dogs are not friendly and are true guard dogs. Katie was the sweetest girl and was nice to almost everyone, but if she sensed something she didn’t like about a person, she was scary.
Happy 10th Gotcha Day Sweetie!! Have a most pawesome day! xoxo
I had a nice day and got some extra spoiling.
Happy Gotcha Day Bailie ! You sure are in a good place !
I’m quite happy in my home.
Wishing you a purrfect day!!!

Yep, she loved em all!!! Happy day Bailie!!! your friend Chester and Lilly
It is a crazy life that we lead at our house, but it makes us all super happy and we wouldn’t want life any other way. Thanks for being such good friends.
