I had a perfect recheck appointment at my rehab vet on Tuesday. Mom thought I was doing really well, but she isn’t a vet, so who knows what the real vet may find. Both of us were a bit anxious on the way to my appointment.
We arrived and got to go right into the exam room after I weighed in. My weight is still good and that is important for overall health. I’m always between twenty eight and thirty pounds. Thirty is a better weight for me, though. While waiting, I sat on the big exam bed across from my mom.
From the bed there is a perfect view of the big jar of liver treats. I’m not fond of any vet, but at this place, they always stuff me full of liver treats. Did you know they are my favorite treats? Mom has a big bag at home too.
Remember last winter I hurt my front leg and I was limping on and off. I had laser treatments for a few weeks and then started on Adequan shots. After five weeks of shots, I amazed my mom. I started to jump right into the car which I had never done in my life. She noticed I was moving better overall. My rehab vet checked me over really well, starting with my back half. Aside from my lower spine needing a small chiropractic adjustment, things felt great!
Next she checked my front half, including my front left leg and paw where I had lots of pain and swelling. Last time she saw me in May, I still had some swelling there. Well, no more! My perfect recheck ended with her saying how happy she is that I am doing so well and feeling so good. She also said I am a great patient. My secret is I will do anything for liver treats, LOL! Since I am not a pet dog, but a working dog I will go back twice a year to have things monitored. I’m cleared to do anything I would like to do, within reason. My injections will continue probably for the rest of my life, but they are once a month and I don’t mind at all. Good health is something to be thankful for!

This is wonderful news, Madison, and we couldn’t be more happy for you and your mom! My vet did the twisty thing to my front legs too. I’ve had my bloodwork done and were waiting for the vet to call back. Mom suspects it may be a Lyme flare-up but she’s not a vet so we wait.
I think I am happy it wasn’t Lyme, but I will have my shots forever. At least they are only once a month and they don’t hurt. Hope your leg is better soon.
An excellent report! Well done.
I’m very happy and so is mom.
Madison I’m cheering big time for you recheck success. You are quite a good patient too
I hope there were lots of liver treats
Hugs cecilia
I eat the treats constantly when I am there. The vet tech is very generous and I am thin so no worries about having too many.
Wonderful news, Madison!!! Love your new vet. (and your beautiful long pink tongue).
She is just my rehab vet, but we really like her and she does the chiro adjustments on me too which feel so good.
Wonderful news, Madison. Interesting that you are only 30 pounds! That is smaller than some PBGV’s (like me Zachary).
I’m a small GBGV and super thin. Olivia is 40 lbs, Emma was 38, Nelson is 50.
Oh such good news, Madison and Mom too ~ sweet photos of such a good doggie ~ Xo

Mom and I are quite relieved.
Great news, Madison! Very happy for you and your Mom! I know all too well how concerning it’s been for your Mom, having been in similar situations many times over my years as a dog mom.
It’s hard when we have pain and no one knows what happened or how to fix it, but we seem to have nailed the fix this time.
That is such a wonderful thankful sweet Madison and we’re so happy to hear about such a good recheck! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Mom and I are so happy. This whole shot thing is so easy and working so well.
I’m so glad the shots and all the other treatment have you in A+ shape!
I am sure glad too!
This is wonderful news! We are happy you are doing so well.
I’m very happy too. Mom was worried my pain and limp would not go away.
Woohoo! So happy you received a great follow up with your vet. Stay well, sweetie.
Mom and I are super happy!
