When fall meets winter, it is a lovely marriage. On Monday we were busy romping and playing in the leaves. They forecast a dusting of snow overnight but we woke up to about three inches of fluffy white snow Halloween morning. It was absolutely beautiful and fun, all in one.
The only downside to fall and winter together is we still need to get all the leaves off the lawn. Sadly, the snow is not staying with us for the winter, so we will be able to take care of the leaves once the snow is gone. Many trees still have leaves that need to fall and we hope that happens soon.
Leaves on the snow with their pretty colors and bright sunshine are gorgeous. We saw these three on the walking path Halloween morning. They look staged but Mother Nature put them there.
Fun In Fall Leaves
Monday Madison and I had a blast racing through all the leaves on the lawn. It is so much fun with the crunching under our paws as we run.
Go, Madison, Go. It is so pawsome that her limping injury really is gone so she can play hard. For a short GBGV, she has some good speed.
You know I love to run. My body isn’t built to be a real fast runner, but I do my best to be quick. Here I am working on my turns.
Fall Meets Winter
And then we woke up to a few inches of the white stuff. Fall meets winter on Halloween. I guess the leaves dressed as ghosts with the white snow cover. Bailie loves to sniff around and feel the sunshine on her furs. The leaf color is so pretty on the white ground.
Of course, snow needs to be plowed. I’m happy to turn my big nose into a snowplow.
All four of us get some good snow pusses when the snow is fresh.
Snow and cold brings out energy in all of us and it also puts a smile on our faces. Olivia is a perfect example of this.
Look! I can fly too! I’m more of a heavy cargo plane, but I do manage to get off the ground. My ears provide the lift.
It wouldn’t be a fun snow post without Olivia and I having fun together. Hopefully we can get these leaves cleaned up in the next week or two and then more snow can come and stay for the winter in our yard. Fall meets winter is a fun time of year!
Iβm joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
We agree – autumn leaves on snow are just gorgeous! Enjoy playing in your beautiful snow, guys!
It was pretty much gone when we left yesterday except for the really shady spots. We are sure more will be coming!
Oh those photos today are all exceptionally gorgeous. Pristine white snow, colourful leaves and flying GBGV’s. What could be better?
It is a perfect scenario!
Wow! Leaves and trees. What more can you ask for.
Leave look quite nice on a bed of fresh snow.
What fun you all are having with the leaves and the snow.
We love snow and leaves can be fun too.
We got maybe an inch and it was gone right away! You got a lot! Love the photos of the leaves with the snow, super pretty!
The leaves look great on fresh snow! We got about three inches at our house, some places only got a dusting or so.
you all look so happy!
Snow makes us happy, and racing in leaves is fun too.
Those are Grand pictures of a fun day! That would be about all the snow our Mom would tolerate – just a dusting.
The three inches is barely enough for us to have fun, but it worked.
BOL it appears if you blink you eyes your season changes. Each are beautiful and I’m glad you 4 and Mom enjoy all of them
Hugs Cecilia
We love winter the most, summer the least. Fall and spring are tied.
What a wonderful combination of seasons…Sure hope this is just the beginning of your snow season…We know it’s your most favorite season of all!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
We are hoping for a lot of snow again this winter, but we have to wait and see as forecasters are always off it seems.
Y’all sure had the best of both world and those romps sure looked like fun, fun, fun!
Lots of fun to be had in the backyard for sure!
Woohoo…pretty leaves AND snow together…you guys have it all!
It was beautiful. Now the snow is all gone.
The joy you are all having just leaps out of the photos. I hope your winter is all you wish it to be.
We are hoping for a good one!
What a wonderful post to see. Every photo just made us smile, every photo just so beautiful … the snow, the leaves, the colors, the playful pups … everything!
Beauty and fun all in one. Now we are back to a bunch of leaves that need to be taken care of.
What a lovely set of images. Indeed, the snow provides a perfect background for the golden colors of the leaves and the pups are obviously having a party playing in the white stuff. We rarely get snow before December and it typically doesn’t stay long but Lucy enjoys watching the birds around the feeders when winter arrives. Have a blessed week.
Our snow should come and stay in a few weeks. We have out paws crossed for lots of it!
