Sometimes a big age difference doesn’t matter. You may remember, I am not a fan of puppies. I ignore them at all cost and don’t like them to hang around me. Nelson is not a puppy anymore, but we are almost nine years apart. Lately, we have been getting closer, and not just here in my dog bed.
The two of us enjoy hanging out in the yard together, sniffing the perimeter. We don’t get to take walks together very much because we are similar in our being loud and pulling when we see rabbits or squirrels. Mom says it is simply too much to walk us both. That is alright as I enjoy my alone time with Mom on my walks and Nelson is fine walking mostly with Madison and occasionally with Olivia.
As long as nothing better is going on, the two of us can sit together nicely for a photo too.
With the cooler weather I’ve started to join Nelson in some fence racing games with his Leonberger girlfriend. The two of them are really fast but I keep up as best as I can. I also join in with my hunting call, so it gets loud with Nelson and I calling out as we run.
Back in the house we find a good sun puddle in our office lay in. After a lot of exercise and fresh air, a nap is quite welcome. Unfortunately, the cat wants to be with us too. I really don’t know why everyone always wants to me with me. Maybe I need to stop being so nice?
It’s pretty crazy to think we all have this “little” brother who gets along with everyone and is so much fun to hang out with. Nine years is a big age difference, but it doesn’t matter most of the time. I am lucky to have this guy in my life and my sisters are lucky too.

Getting along and being best friends is a wonderful thingβ₯
I really don’t like puppies but now that Nelson is out of that stage, we have some good fun together.
it’s great to have such a friend… such youngsters make us older pups young too… yay for a fabulous friendship…
With the cooler weather he has been bringing out the wild in me!
Having a young one with a lot of energy will help keep you active; and that’s a good thing.
I am doing a lot of racing with him with the cooler weather and it is a lot of fun.
You are very much loved. Always remember that
I know and we do all get our alone time as well.
Nelson was wise to follow your lead when it came to mixing and mingling.
Hugs Cecilia
He does look up to me sometimes but other times, he is just a guy without a clue, LOL!
Nothing wrong with being a good boy and getting along with everyone else. You’re most handsome too. All of you are most special. Just ask your mom.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
We are all special in our own ways she says. Nelson is a good addition as he is a real guy, no drama with him.
Oh my gosh…you two are so stinking adorable together. LOVE that pic of you both sniffing, tails raised in harmony. Happy Awww Monday.
We share the same ideas about hunting which is nice but it is also why we rarely get to go for walks together. It can be quite loud if we see a critter.
Awww ~ you are both so adorable and love the expression ‘on big brother’ ~ wonderful photos ~ thanks, enjoy each other ~ Xo

Thank you. Mom likes that the two of us have been hanging out a lot more lately.
What a wonderful post, isn’t it wonderful when puppies grow up to be pretty cool siblings?!

It is a good thing. We were not so sure about a boy in the house, but he is a good thing. Nelson is always pretty chill and doesn’t worry about much of anything.
This is a great post! We like to run with our neighbors dogs too!
Nelson is really hooked on his girlfriend, but in general, he just loves girls, LOL!
You two really are adorable together and you three are adorable together as well!
That cat is always trying to cozy up to me and I really prefer to have my bed to myself. It is rare that Nelson stops by but when he does, he doesn’t stay for long.
It’s not the age, or even the species, it’s the love, you’ve found that out.
I still avoid puppies, even when I see them out walking, I want nothing to do with them, but Nelson is a pretty nice brother these days.
