Mom took me along to run some errands the other day and we stopped for a walk at Nine Mile Creek. Not only did I get some mommy and me time, I got to be the first dog in the family to walk at this place. We have driven by the sign and parking lot many times but never stopped.
The creek is way down below the roadway. There is a nice winding trail down the hill to the creek. They also have a good map of the area so we could decide where to go.
Bridges go back and forth over the creek. They look the same, but are placed in different spots along the water. The stairs to the left of me goes up the hill, but for some reason it was all blocked off.
All the leaves are on the ground, making the trees kind of ugly now. Thankfully, all the leaves on the ground add some color to the area along the creek.
My ears were blowing around like crazy in the wind. It was a cold day and there was a lot of wind. I think being down below was sort of like being in a wind tunnel.
We think people may canoe or kayak here if there is enough water. There are spots all along the way where you can go right down to the water. I did not try to go in because I am not a water dog. The bridge behind me is yet another bridge, not the same one in the other photos.
All in all, our walk along the Nine Mile Creek was not very long, but we enjoyed finding a new spot and I know we will come back again. It’s always fun to find good new walking spots! Walking off some of the food we ate yesterday on Thanksgiving was also a great idea!

There is that small window between when they fall and before they turn brown, that is a beautiful time.

That looks like a great place to explore. I, Nobby, am fascinated by water and if I went there I would definitely have gone down to check out the creek (although I would not have gone for a swim, or even a paddle, at this chilly time of year).
Gail thinks you should go back sometime and do a nine mile walk at nine mile creek.

We could do that, but Mom would have to figure out if there is a way to do it in a circle. I dip my paws in water if it is really hot in the summer, but none of us like to get in and swim or anything.
That looks like a lovely place for a long walk, and it probably had lots to sniff!
Lots of good sniffing because of all the leaves and since we have never been there before.
Long walks after eating a lot are really important. Now if I can get off the couch….

It was a perfect day for a walk. The temps are now cold which we like, so hopefully we will take more walks.

Mom thinks for the whole day on our early morning walks. It works great, but she does some thinking if we walk again later too.
That was sure a mighty fine place for a walk sweet Madison and I think we needed to walk off the meal from yesterday too!
Yes, after turkey day, most folks need a real good walk.
