Today we decided to look back at past family Santa visits. It works for #ThrowbackThursday and we are also very thankful to have the photos as memories of the past times. Germany didn’t do Santa visits like they do here in the USA, so we have no photos of Katie and Emma with him until they moved back to the USA.
Back in 2007, Katie and Emma moved into their new house right after Thanksgiving and Mom said the next thing would be to visit Santa Claus. They went to the mall where they met jolly old St Nick and had their photo taken.
In 2009, Mom packed up Katie, Emma, Bert, and Sophie and headed off to a place doing Christmas photos. It turns out they didn’t have a Santa, but they had a sleigh and winter scenes. Since finding a place where you can have photos taken with cats and dogs is rare, we are posting this collage of the experience. Sadly, they only did this one year.
Emma missed seeing Santa, so she went to see him at a pet store in 2012. She doesn’t look very happy with him in this photo. We don’t know why Santa isn’t wearing his glasses either.
In 2013 I celebrated my first Christmas. As has become tradition, puppies at our house get to visit Santa their first Christmas. At the time, I was five months old. I looks pretty content. Mom has told me that I ripped off Santa’s beard during the process of trying to get a photo. How could she actually accuse me of such mischief?
2016 means Madison was a puppy, just four months old when she met Santa Claus. I don’t know about you, but she doesn’t look like she trusts him much. At least Santa looks happy.
The Mall of America has pet photos with Santa most years. In 2018, Mom took me and Madison to see him. Despite getting there way early, the line was long, long, long. We waited for a few hours to see the guy in the red suit. He was by far the best Santa we have ever met. After our visit, we even got to walk around the mall a little bit. Since dogs are normally not allowed, it was a special experience.
As far as family Santa visits go, Olivia was the most challenging. She would have nothing to do with Santa. Mom says it was like a wrestling match to get one sort of alright photo of the two.
Nelson got a bad deal on his Santa visit. He went to a mall Santa last year. Mom was not happy as it was not at all busy, but they still put Nelson in quickly, took no time to let him settle in, and then they shoved him out. As you can see from the photo, the photographer wasn’t even down at the right level. It was disappointing, but it is done. Maybe one year he and Olivia can go to the Mall of America to the best guy together.
No matter how the photos turned out, we are thankful to have them all as memories, especially for those family members who have passed.

All of your photos with Santa are such wonderful memories!
It is hard to believe so many are gone, and some of us never knew them. Time changes everything, but we are happy for the memories.
that is so sweet… and we were so happy to see emma and katie… the mama calls the kuvasz in the neighbor village always katie and she is super happy to see this pup……although the owner always says it is a boy … but if there is a boy named sue, we can have a kuvasz named katie too….
Oh my, a boy named Sue? Now that is weird. How fun to have a Kuvasz in your area. We rarely see any around here.
We are very sorry to see Bert was passes away. You are in our prayers 🙏🏻
Thank you. We will post about him tomorrow. All us pups miss him.
Love looking at this picture although I think I am happier looking at them then the dogs look in them
Some Santa visits were good, some not so good, but we remember them and they make for fun memories either way.
OMDs OMCs you have given me a millions smiles today. What wonderful Throwback Thursday photos
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. We always love the memories photos give to us. Over time one forgets so many things but cruising through old photos, we are reminded.
SOO sorry about Bert! My favorite photo is the one with the four of them in the Sleigh! Thank you for many smiles and personal memories of Christmas photos.
It was amazing they let you have 2 dogs and 2 cats off leash for photos. The shoot was exhausting but we got pretty good photos.
Sweet photos of beautiful doggies with Santa ~ loving memories ~ Xos
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

We were not all keen on our Santas, but we all survived and they provide us with good memories.
Sweet memories.
Sending you sympathy on losing Bert. You all gave him a wonderful life.
He had a great life doing what he wanted, not worrying about rules of any sort. Everyone loved him and he is lucky to have been adopted as an adult.
Those were such fun photos and everyone was so good with Santa! Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We didn’t add the ones of Olivia fighting to get away, or Bailie ripping off Santa’s beard, but for the most part we were all good.
What pawsome Santa memories!!!! We arent much into Santa here…but Mama sure does make up for it with lots of other props BOL!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
We prefer our stuffed Santas at home to going to meet the real one, but it is all fun.
What sweet memories ! Thanks for sharing !
Santa photos are a special memory, I’m glad you each have at least one.
One is about all we do normally but if there is a fun opportunity, we will do more.
What sweet photos!
Thank you.
What fantastic memories, Santa visits are only for children here in the UK but Boris did get to meet him once a few years back at a Christmas market as he was packing his sleigh up xxx
We love that they have pet Santas for us to see here.
Pet photos are always a gamble, let alone with a stranger who’s dressed up. Elsa would absolutely not be in favor of that. We have to do LOTS of treats in the comfort of our own home in order to do photos of any kind. Maybe I’ll get a life size cutout of Santa and give that a shot. LOL
The cutout would be a fun idea! We all love most photos. If Mom grabs her camera we all come running. No treats needed, we know what to do 😉
