Let’s make Cranberry Christmas Cookies with a hint of bacon. Cranberries are red and perfect for Christmas as they make red spots on the cookies, and bacon because who doesn’t love bacon? I’ve got all my ingredients together, so let’s get this cookie party started, shall we?
There are kind of a lot of ingredients for these cookies, but trust me, they are worth the extra effort. I’m going to get started by putting the cranberries into my food processor to dice them up.
Now I will add the rest of the ingredients, except for the water. Let the machine do some work, and then add the water slowly as needed.
I decided to take the dough out of the processor and knead it with my paws on the counter.
Once it is the right consistency, I will give it a taste before rolling it out for my cookie cutters.
For cookie cutters I am using a bone and a Christmas tree. Since we are not doing real fancy frosting, I am keeping the cookies simple.
They are finally all cut out. The recipe makes about four dozen cookies, so it is a lot of cutting of cookies. See the pretty red spots made by the diced cranberries? It makes them more festive and tasty too.
Time for the cookies to bake in the oven for about half an hour.
After what seemed like days, the cookies are done baking so I took the out of the oven to cool. While I was away from the kitchen, someone named sneaky pants Nelson came by and stole a cookie. I guess it speaks for how tasty they are.
The cookies are good as is when they come out of the oven. I wanted to make some of them a bit more fancy, so I had my mom help me out. We melted some carob chips and decorated the top of some cookies. Before the carob dries, sprinkle some shredded coconut on top for a snow look. What will happen? I will steal my own cookies, that is what will happen!
Here is a plate of my Cranberry Christmas cookies with a hint of bacon. They look pretty nice I think. The recipe is available here if you would like to make some for your pup.
