Yesterday was my second birthday party, but only for three this year. Madison is on a strict diet during recovery from her surgery, so we only had the three of us. I promised Madison I will celebrate together a couple weeks. There is an extra piece of cake in the freezer for us to share when she is ready. The pieces are big, so we can easily split it. She also can’t sit on a chair at the table, and it would be cruel to invite her if she can’t participate. We celebrated at the kitchen table while she was napping.
My cake this year is a melting snowman cake. I see it online all the time and have always wanted a piece. Mom and I thought it would be great for my party this year since until recently it has been so warm, and the blue is good for boys too.
Bailie and Olivia were super happy to join me for my party. I think they may have come just for the cake, not for me, but who knows. We actually got a pretty good photo for a change!
Madison missing really took a lot of fun out of the party. She is always so funny and fun, but we did our best to create our own fun, sometimes at the expense of another, LOL. GBGV’s are not known for being serious, we are simply clowns in fur coats.
Mom served up the cake, and we all dug right in. Boy is it tasty!
Sometimes I think we are just animals the way we handle our food. It is hard to eat politely when something tastes so good.
Bailie is the most polite and she was also the last one to finish her piece of cake.
Olivia is a bit of a piggy like me. She like to gobble things down as fast as she can. It just disappeared!
What about me, the birthday boy? I took the whole piece into my mouth at once but now I can’t find it. My plate is empty, what happened?
Wait, where is the birthday boy? What is he up to now? My sisters don’t even notice that I am gone.
Oh dear, apparently, I dropped most of my cake onto the floor as I tried to eat it all in one bite. My hat fell off when I crawled under the table, but I found my cake, whew!
Now that the floor is clean, I can get any leftover crumbs in my spot at the table. I figure it’s my second birthday party, and I will behave like I want to behave, right?
I wanted to get up on top of the table, but the tablecloth slipped so I couldn’t get more than two paws up. At least I managed to get any leftovers from my sisters too. My party was fun. The melting snowman cake was to drool for. I can’t wait to celebrate again with Madison! Hopefully two will be a Grand year!

You have us laughing and we can’t stop, Nelson! Your pawty is just the bestest fun and your snowman cake looks so delicious and cute! We can’t wait till you celebrate again with Madison!
It will be a party for two in a couple weeks. We feel bad she missed my actual party but her health is our priority.
hahahah was it you Olivia? … you are a super bro, you even rescued one piece for your si… thats super nice…
I miss Madison. We always walk together and she is a rule follower, but she teaches me a lot. It is only fair to celebrate with her when she can eat regular food again.
A silly-willy-messy-pawty … what fun would it be otherwise! That was the best kind. And so sweet of you to do it
quietly (mmm?) so as not to disturb Madison … and paws up to Mom for catching all the action.
We didn’t want Madison to feel bad. She already has enough with being forced to rest even though she says she feels fine. It is a tough couple weeks but once she gets going again, look out!
what a great party!!!! We love that cake! Happy Birthday Nelson. your friend Chester
We have always loved seeing that cake and with this winter being so warm and a lack of snow, we thought it was time to order it. Of course, the one below zero week we have had is this week, but the cake tastes yummy in any weather.
Your cake looks delicious and you did such a good job picking out the right treat for your party!
We all like how big the slices are and that Mom let us pig out on a whole one and wasn’t stingy cutting them in half.
Sad that Madison could not be there. But just think you get to have a second party. I would demand a second piece of cake. It looked delicious.
The pieces were really big, but we could eat until we exploded really. Madison and I will split the last piece when she is ready to eat cake.
OMD..What pawsome cake slices, we really like the snowmen on them! That hat is pawesome Nelson…it’s the perfect color for Team Green!
xoxo,
Rosy ans Sunny
Thank you, I love my hat! The cake is one we have thought about for a long time but finally I decided it didn’t have to be green to be at my party. It was fabulous and it looks so fun too.
Nelson I do so love the color theme the tablecloth is a winner too. How does Mom decide what with be ‘your’ colors. Nice intimate party for 3 I bet there was good conversation too. Did Madison get a wee taste of it from her convalescent bed?
Hugs and Happy Birthday week and weekend.
Cecilia
No, she did not get a taste or anything. We don’t want her to feel bad. Her event and surgery were huge and she is lucky to have survived. Mom is very strict on following her rules for recovery. It is working so well, as Madison is doing great. We will split the fourth piece once she can eat normal stuff again. PS I love the colors too, they say boy and fun.
What fun!!! Laughing to split my sides! Great photos! Lovely decorations. Yummy ,Yummy cake!!! Well, Mr. Nelson, I see your party floored you!!! Glad you found your missing cake. Those were HUGE pieces!!! Madison will still have fun celebrating with you later. May you have a GRAND year!!
Thank you. I’m sure hoping for a Grand year. The cake slices are huge and Mom was going to cut them in half but she said we only live once and we are all so fit, it isn’t a problem to splurge sometimes for special occasions.
OMD!!!! What fun pictures of a very fun pawty! And you get a second pawty with Madison when she is well recovered and healed. Keeping Madison in our thoughts for complete healing.
BTW, our mom has to check out if we can get a cake shipped!
I don’t know if they ship things or not, but I know they freeze things at the bakery, so I would think they could do shipping. We had a fun party and I look forward to a private party with Madison when her restrictions are lifted.
What a fun party! I’m glad you saved some for Madison, I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.
It will be fun to just celebrate with the two of us. She is a special sister and we both have something to celebrate.
What a fun celebration even if your sweet sister Madison couldn’t be there in person. I’m sure the next celebration with her will be just a fun and colorful. Your Mom does such a great job with the decor and cake which looked adorably cute as well as tasty. Happy Barkday!
Thank you. In another two weeks or so, Madison will split the last piece of cake and have our own little party š
What fun, I wish you’d saved me some too!
Isn’t it an adorable cake!
Happy Birthday š
Thank you?
Happy Belated!
Thank you.
