Nelson can be a real dirtball of a guy! Last week when the snow melted, the mud came back. Nelson had to play in the yard and find the mud spots to run through. He came inside looking like a bowling shoe, dark on the bottom, white on top. Mom toweled him off and he was still a mess. The photo is after he was toweled off.
Thankfully for everyone but Nelson, he was scheduled to head to the spa the next day. Talk about perfect timing. It was even a perfect plus scenario as we went below freezing for two days after his spa day. The above photo is Nelson back in his show dog look.
That night we were all hanging out in the living room with the fireplace on. Nelson wanted to schmooze with me. Since he was a shiny clean guy, I let him. The two of us are pretty tight, and he likes to lick my ears and beard sometimes. He doesn’t do that with my sisters. Now he is back to working on getting dirty, so he will need to stay away from me. I’m not a fan of needing to be cleaned up.

You are such a handsome dude when you’re clean, Nelson!
I think I look fine with dirt too, but females seem to think differently about that.
wow that was a magic spa, wasnt it? we are glad to look always like mud, so we will not land in the bathtub…
You boys are not afraid of dirt either. Girls are weird about being clean all the time.
Nelson is 100% boy the dirtier the better…he could care less….but when you live with ladies you have to be be well groomed.
Darlin’ photo I’d let him smooch me too
Hugs Cecilia
He is really 100% boy, some we love some of that we don’t find so appealing, but we all love him and he loves his girls.
Just love their different personalities!
Mom always says we are exactly the same, just very different.
At least Nelson, you had fun! You do remind us of a bowling shoe in the first picture, but smooching after your spa is your reward!
Luckily, I love to be groomed but this time I did howl a lot. Mom says I need to go away alone more often as I might be too attached to her.
Boys will be boys, but girls can be little bundles of turf as well. Our Lucy will go outside and roll in the dead grass then come in the house looking like a scarecrow. We have to take her back outside and brush her coat so she can come back inside.
Madison rolls in the grass a lot, but that is an easy fix. The dirt I accumulate is a real project.
You’re most handsome after your spa day, Nelson. Being clean is a good thing.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. ♥
It feels good being all cleaned up and having my furs back in order and stripped but getting dirty is sooo much fun!
You do have fun ‘dirt and all’ ~ Nelson you are adorable ~ and sweet doggies ~ hugs,

Thank you. I love to have fun and dirt doesn’t bother me at all.
Boys do like to play hard…and dirty!! BOL

We sure are finding that out around here this year!
Getting dirty is a lot of fun; then the necessary bath; and that clean feeling after is quite relaxing. We get our bath at home, so we can dry ourselves on our mom’s bed!
None of us are bath fans around here, but we love to try to jump into bed when we are a bit dirty and wet. Mom isn’t a fan of that.
Oh Nelson, you had us smiling ‘n’ giggling and we luvs you dirty or clean … either way you’re pawsome!
Why, thank you. The dirt doesn’t bother me at all, but the girls and Mom are not so keen on a dirty boy.
Maybe you can find a Getting Dirty and Muddy sport that you could win easily Nelson!
I should look into mud wrestling for dogs maybe?
Brothers seem to be dirt magnets. It’s all part of the fun, but I agree, don’t buddy up to me if you are that big of a mess.
Mom doesn’t want me hanging onto her either when I am a mess. Being clean seems to be a big thing for girls.
Boys may be sweet but they sure can be little piglets. Hopefully your brother will stay clean for at least a little while.
His name is piglet a lot these days. Hopefully the yard will get dry again at some point.
