We went from lion to lamb overnight this week. Our strange and sad winter keeps throwing out messes. Tuesday night forty plus mph winds blew in below zero wind chills and single digit temperatures along with a dusting of snow combined with ice. It was so very cold with that nasty wind. It continued for about two days, long enough for February to go out like a lion.
Leap day was a transition day. Nelson was out a lot enjoying the frozen yard, and his girlfriend.
She continues to play hard to get with him. He never gives up. We tell him to try ignoring her, but he can’t seem to do that.
Eventually he realized Mom was taking photos. He stopped, looked, and then came back in the house.
On Leap Day, things started to turn around. By today, March first, the lamb arrived. Temps are back in the fifties, sun is shining, and our yard is a mud pit once again. Nelson is sad because Mom won’t let him play outside. We went from lion to lamb basically overnight but we wish we had the lion back.
We’re joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

What crazy weather in such a short period of time. You look so cute in your plaid scarf and hat, Madison!
Thank you. It is just crazy, and Mom never can get dressed as she doesn’t know what to wear for the crazy weather.
Love your opening photo – all kitted out and your lion friend too.
Thank you. We love winter.
It’s the time of the year when the weather can’t make its mind up!
This has been the worst winter ever, no snow and too warm, very sad around here.
Thank first picture is a winner,
Thank you. The lion’s name is Roary. He’s over forty years old.
That’s a lot of weather ups and downs but it seems to be like that here too. The cold and wind is coming back today.
We have the winds again too. Not much fun.
I hope and purr all the crazy weather has been due to Leap Year…and maybe next year you will have tons of snow.
What cute photos of a young man trying to win the heart of his lady love
Hugs Cecilia
We really are hoping this year was a fluke.
We are hoping March brings one more lion…but the temps are warming up to the 70s here this weekend, so looks like lamb weather to us!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
It will be almost 70 here too this weekend. Sad news for us winter lovers.
We have the lion of March here on the West Coast……
Love that first picture with your lion and the tongue tip!
LOL! Roary is the lion’s name and he is super old but we love him.
We have had some Lion weather this week too, but no snow.
Madison, you look utterly delectable in your winter gear.
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
Thanks, Nobby. It was nice to be able to bundle up for a day or two.
Love the lion /Lamb photo! Can tell Spring is in the air for Nelson!
He has spring fever all year when it comes to girls, LOL!
Wow, that’s quite the swing in weather at your place! We are glad the lamb has ccme back to visit you.
We wanted to keep cold and snow, but it was not to be.
We had similiar weather here in MA ~ wild! ~ Sweet photos of you ~ adorable ~ hugs,

The weather is really crazy this year and we hope it is just for this year.
So sorry your winter has been such a bust. Hopefully there’s some snow in the near future. 🤞🏼
We don’t expect to see much more cold or snow, just lots of mud. We are moving on to looking forward to a normal winter next year.
