Welcome to the Monday Mix. Mom’s collarbone break and surgery has kind of thrown a wrench into our lives and our blog. We decided to take a couple days off last week to try to rest up and figure things out going forward. Today we are each contributing a small tidbit or two for Awesome Monday. My tidbit is an update on Mom. Her shoulder is healing well, and she is learning to use her left arm for more and more things. Nothing is easy, but we know we will survive the coming weeks.
I’m really not happy about Mom’s injury and the changes it has made around here. Thankfully, all my paws and legs are in order and I have a lot of fun running in the yard with my friends. I do take care of my mom too. We cuddle a lot and I am careful not to jump on her right side. Things are a bit slow and boring but I am dealing with it.
My job is about the same. I’m always watching for crime in the neighborhood, and protecting our house. Next weekend I have a nose work trial and I have been really good at my practicing. Mom says she is hopeful we will have a better trial than some of my last ones.
I’m not happy about the whole injury thing at all as it has really cramped our nose work plans. But, we can’t change things, so we live with what we have. Mom and I are dealing with the depression of it all together at least. Tomorrow starts my birthday week. Today I will be resting up for that. Hopefully Mom gets better at figuring out how to hold the camera and take pictures with her injured wing. My advice to all is rest up, have fun, and watch where you are going!

We hope your mom is back to her prior self soon so you can all go back to having your fun adventures. Keep taking good care of her!
One of the first four weeks is done, then there will be two more weeks of the sling as a part time accessory. It is not easy, but we will make it through together.
I’m sorry mom is not doing what she usually does, but she needs time to heal. You all know that and I know you’ll take great care of her. You’re all so precious and adorable.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and healing hugs to mom. ♥
We are all adapting, but it is frustrating for her and for us. I know we will all make it through the next few weeks.
I happy to hear you are all be patience with Mom because she loves you so much
We have more patience than she does, that is for sure!
I see Nelson didn’t post. I hope he is not up to mischief or really bummed out. You are good girls to be patient with your mom, struggles and healing. Remind your mom how creative and resourceful she is and also about delayed shutter speeds, off meter lighting, tripods and other techniques for getting shots remotely. It can be a good challenge for her brain to try new techniques. i.e. – experiment! AND have FUN doing it!! We are waiting with bated breath to see the results! Jimmy Parker and Olive
Nelson posted with the rest of us today. He’s being a really good boy most of the time.
Healing takes time, and patience. You will all get through this.
Mom knows that, but she isn’t a very patient person and we are not real patient either. We know in a few months it will all be forgotten, but in the midst of it, it isn’t much fun.
Yes, a few days off (from here) each week will give you more needed rest time. Of course, we’ll miss you, but will understand … healing may be faster with less stress (no, we’ve no idea what we’re talking about, it’s just a guess). The pups sound so patient and good but they need your attention more than we do … and you need your attention the most of all. Healing hugs and thoughts, Ann and June
We don’t plan to take any more days off. Last week was just too hard and too much going on. We are back to our usual schedule now.
Oh for sure anytime the humans are out of commission it makes for a very messed up routine…so very thankful
mom is healing well. My daughter is a leftie…please tell Mom that a leftie is always in her right mind.
Hugs Cecilia
LOL! Mom’s left arm is definitely not in her right mind. It is not easy at all! We will power through and get it all behind us
It’s hard to keep a good Mama down…we can only imagine how rough this must be on all of you, but we know you’ll come through it better than ever!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
It is pretty rough, but we are doing our best to try to stay positive and be good pups. Mom’s left arm and hand are already over it all having to try to do everything it has never done!
Sending Mom lots of distant reiki healing energy hugs and you doggies are so adorable and love photos of you ~ one day at a time ~ be well ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

The first part of recovery is now 25% done after a week, so we know we will make it, but when you are in it, it seems like forever.
Keep up the good healing! you all are being awesome supports, we are sure! your friend Chester (and mom)
Mom feels bad not being able to do everything we usually do, but we are fine. She says she can’t imagine going through this mess without any dogs. If nothing else, we provide a lot of motivation.
Mom should take a REAL break and not worry about blogging at all, she hasn’t missed a day……that’s great but Mom’s healing is more important than blogging. At least you have a fenced yard, we don’t!! You still can play! 🙂
It is all working out fine. Just last week was all off with having someone stay here for a couple days. Now we are more in our normal routine and it feels better to us all.
Big gentle hugs and purrs to your Mom and to all of you. We know it’s quite a change but things will be back to normal before you know it.
We are trying to be as normal as we can, but the biggest challenge is everything takes so long for her to do.
Lots of prayers for you and your sweet mom.
Friends don’t put expectations on friends, just post when she can and wants to!
She puts her own expectations on herself. The blog is something we all love, but last week it was just a bit too much. Now we are back and finding our temporary groove.
Healing takes time, especially a collarbone injury. Just know a little rest isn’t all bad and we’re sure your Mom will be back in the saddle. No doubt getting used to movement limitation has cramped her style but we’re sure she’ll get better with each day and week.
She isn’t good at doing nothing but since everything takes so long with her left arm and hand, she spends a lot of time on silly little things. We will all survive, but it is not a fun time.
