Why am I my mom’s soulmate? She says I have been since a few weeks before I was born. To kick off my birthday week, I am going to look back at my life when I first met my forever family, which includes my mom.
It is very easy to understand if you know the story. Emma passed away suddenly. Our breeder said there would be no GBGV puppies in 2019. Mom was bummed. Well, thank dog for Emma and my doggy daddy, Doughboy (in the above photo flirting with my sisters). You see, Emma knew how devastated Mom was about her passing and she knew Mom so very well. Doughboy loves girls (kind of like Nelson). I became a love child as Doughboy got together with my doggy mommy when she was supposed to not be in heat and my litter was created. My human mom was shocked when she heard there would be a litter in a few weeks.
Here I am at a week old. I was one of eight puppies. Mom chose to adopt my sister, Carmen. Our breeder gave her the pick of the litter and that was it.
Another miracle happened a week before Mom came to get her puppy. Out of the blue, she decided she didn’t like Carmen’s face and she decided to go with “flower girl”, that would be me. Easter was later in 2019. This was me with some Easter stuffies at four weeks old.
Mom and our Navigator drove the 7 hours to Missouri to pick me up. I came running along out in the yard. Running is something I have always loved, and Mom loves to run and run around too. We have a lot of similarities.
My new sisters were quite rude and didn’t have any interest in me. I was questioning the idea of going to live with them in Minnesota at that point.
The choice to take me to Minnesota was out of my paws. My new mom grabbed me up and was determined to adopt me and bring me home. I had no idea how my life would be, but I would find out. At least my new mom seemed to love me already.
Back home the next day, my sisters sniffed me over like a million times. I got some sniffing of them in as well.
Mom insisted on a family photo. It was explained to me by my new sisters that photos are a huge part of our lives. “Why not pose nicely for the lady,” was my thinking at that moment.
The yard was nice, food was good, things all seemed to be alright for me to stay and live. Why then does Mom call us soulmates? Because Emma arranged for me to be born and go to my new mom. She programmed me to do and love all the things my human mom has wanted her dogs to do. We leap, I love to cuddle. I am a big mom’s girl. We both love to be fast and efficient. But most of all, I am her dream sports dog.
Mom started training me for sports the week I came home to live with her. At six months old I earned my first title in Barn Hunt. At seven months old, we took a road trip to Iowa where I cleaned up in AKC Scent Work. I had eight runs over two days. I earned placements in all the searches I Q’d in. As the youngest dog in the trial, I earned High In Trial and I earned my Novice Exterior Title. My drive and work ethic have been like no other dog she has had.
Mom and I, Team Orange, are true sports soulmates in all the sports we do. Sniffing is the top of the top, though. She never dreamed of having a Nose Work dog like me. We have so much fun together and do so well. It is crazy amazing and it makes us both so very happy. Mom loves all of us and in our own special ways but the two of us have a different bond, like no other. Being soulmates is a wonderful thing!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weāre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

We love your story, Olivia, and you were such an adorable puppy! You are a very talented girl and you and your mom together make an amazing team!
We are very close and we have so much fun together. Each of us has our own special relationship with Mom but the one I have is a bit more.
Happy (almost birthday) Olivia … and thank you, Emma ~
According to Mom, I am a true miracle and love child. These kinds of things don’t just happen, someone wills them and we know it was Emma.
Iām sure Emma sent you to Mom. She knew your mom would love you and your sisters would welcome with open hearts.
And she knew exactly the personality I would need to have. I even did the leap on my own and Mom always wanted a dog who would leap into her arms. We are made for each other.
We love this story Olivia! Emma was definitely involved-good for her! Mom says that Dash sent me to her — I have the same white patch on my chest that he had. Mom says, “It’s like Dash kissed Chester before he sent him to me.” Mom was planning on getting one of my siblings –even went to meet her! But she and Lilly did not get along. So when mom asked to see another puppy, she picked me up and held me and Lilly had no reaction at all. And then mom saw the white patch and well, there you go… we were set for life! Thanks for sharing your story. Happy Birthday week! your friend Chester.
It’s fun to have an extra special story and we are sure Dash was involved in how you ended up with your mom. We both have something special in common and are lucky to have the perfect homes and moms.
You are perfect soulmates. Happy Birthday Week!
We really are and it is a wonderful thing for both of us. It doesn’t bother my siblings at all as they have their own special bonds with Mom.
Olivia what a wonderful story OMDs….Mom knew what she knew and went with it.
You are soulmates and you both wear Orange with such grace and style
Hugs Cecilia

The whole thing is crazy and I will always love my doggy daddy for being so quick at grabbing my mom in the right moment. I was made to be with Mom since that very day. It is a fun story we have to share forever.

It is truly a special feeling that others don’t share. They are also loved like crazy but it is a different kind of bond.
Some things are just a miracle and it sounds like you and your mom being together is one of them.
We feel like it is a miracle that was destined to be.
Happy Barkday Week Olivia !
Thank you.
Yep, Emma definitely had a paw (or TWO) in that decision! And I am so glad!
We both are too!
What a very cool story about how you became your Mom’s soulmate. Looking forward to celebrating your birthday week, dear Olivia. Happy early birthday. š
I always love my special week, and Mom does too.
