What about your dog and the eclipse? Can she be outside? Does she need to wear eclipse glasses? Will dogs even notice the eclipse? Let’s think about some possibilities.
If any of the following items apply to your dog, you may want to keep them indoors during the eclipse.
1. You found a charge on your Amazon account for a box of eclipse glasses but you didn’t order any. Your dog denies making the purchase.

2. Neighborhood dogs have been betting on who can stare at the sun the longest. Your dog denies being involved, but you suspect your dog may be involved as some cash is missing from your wallet.
3. You found a text on your dog’s cell phone about him and his girlfriend looking forward to nose nuzzling during the romantic eclipse. He claims it will get cold out and it would only be to keep warm.
4. A mysterious package arrived for your dog the other day. When you asked your dog about it, the reply was, “It has nothing to do with me sneaking outside to watch the eclipse.”
5. When checking your dog’s cell phone, you find plans for a bunch of dog pals, “the guys”, to meet up to watch a “big BALL game in the sky” on April 8th in the afternoon.

Fun aside, there is no real danger to dogs being outside during the eclipse. It is a sunny day, and it gets dark. Dogs experience this all the time in the evening. Normally, dogs don’t look at the sun, and there is nothing unusual about it getting dark out. If you are worried keep Fido inside, but we will do what we usually do all afternoon.
Happy Eclipse Day!
My GBGV Life joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

We will be staying inside to be safe.
No one at our house is interested in it but it will be cloudy and raining anyway.
We will not see much here in California. and, there will probably be plenty of videos to watch.
Mom has seen at least a partial before. We will just keep on napping.
You made me chuckle with the things that may apply to your dog.
What a fun post.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and a healing hug to your mom. ♥
We find the entire hubbaloo so silly, we decided to be silly too 🙂
Excellent post…I have a 11 am appointment today. I plan to be inside by the time the partial eclipse passes over our area.
Hugs Cecilia
We are busy napping, and Mom is working, doesn’t care about it. It’s cloudy anyway.
Oh ~what a fun post ~ great thoughts on dogs ~ partial eclipse here ~ will watch from my home after a walk with my doggie ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Enjoy.
Lucy has her glasses, although I doubt is whe will pay much attention. We are just a few miles outside of the optimum path, so It is a big deal here. All of the national news networks are in Arkansas to cover the event.
At least you can probably look from your own home rather getting into the crowds.
Yep, cloudy here too…not that we probably would have noticed anyway. Thanks for the giggles!!

No interest in it here, napping is more fun.
This is so funny! Mom and I laughed and laughed – the text! the amazon order! the money missing. All of it made us laugh!! Great post. Happy Eclipse Day!!
No one at our house is into the whole thing, so we figured we could have some fun with it at least. Enjoy your day!
Thanks for the grins!
Sorry you didn’t have anything to see either. It did get a bit darker here, but that was it with all the clouds and rain.
Thankfully, we managed to avoid all the hubbub about the eclipse. And even if I had the glasses, I’d have still avoided it. With Elsa’s epilepsy, it makes no sense getting worked up about it since it can trigger seizures. Wilson would only look up if there was a squirrel in a tree 😊
Mom could care less about it, and here it was cloudy and rainy anyway. Some people are into it and that is great. Mom has seen them before and it was fine but nothing to get all worked up about. We all slept through it.
This is hysterical!!! Thanks – I’ll check my credit card
