Signs of spring are popping up all around Minnesota right now. For example, I am even popping up behind a bench at the park. It is a crazy time of year, where things change fast.
Probably the most well known sign of spring to pop up is this one. Here in Minnesota, we call road construction our second season. We have winter and road construction. Humans get really cranky about seeing this sign, and I don’t know why. It is a very nice sign I think.
These odd things are also popping up all over the place in pretty bright colors, red, yellow, green, orange. Mom says she doesn’t like to see them, but I don’t know why that is. They seem pretty harmless. She says something about them causing digging.
For the first time in about three years, we are no longer in a drought. The two inches of rain we got this week got us out. It also has helped the grass turn green. Our yard still looks horrible despite some more green. The mud is muddier too. From the looks of my head in this photo, my head furs are popping up for spring too!
We found some tiny purple/lavender flowers in some leaves. They are so cute, but one can barely see them.
These signs of spring make my siblings and I nervous. Mom sees them as a challenge. She insists on ignoring them and walking on the trail anyway. It is embarrassing sometimes when we run into workers on the path.
We found a few samples of these yellow flowers along our route. Some were also more white. They are pretty and very springy looking.
These signs are not good to find because they mean the next one will be one of those trail closed signs. I think we will need to alter some of our walking routes for the summer.
No matter what pops up, we will continue to walk and enjoy whatever we see along the way. It will be a couple weeks until all the brown of fall and winter is washed and blown away, but we can watch spring slowly creep in. Hope you have a Grand weekend!
We’re joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

Yeah, don’t let a little pop-up thingy here or there get in your way … PS, your pop-up head furs are so CUTE!
For some reason they love to stand on end. Mom likes them too.
Your head furs are so cute popping up, Bailie, and your spring flowers are just beautiful!
There isn’t much going on with flowers yet, mostly construction signs are popping up, but that is a sign of spring, literally.
All kinds of things pop up in Spring, some good, some not so, but enjoy those you can!
That is exactly the right way to handle it!
Looove your pop-up hair! Too bad you couldn’t wear those little purple flowers in it; you would look SUPER stunning! “Detour”, “Closed,” “sprayed lines on grass” are all four-letter words – just spelled longer and more odious! BUT…you MIGHT find some new walking areas AND… maybe even some new, good posing spots?
We will see if Mom finds new routes, or just takes us through the construction zones since it is early morning when we walk in that area. We are looking forward to some new walkways along the one main road that didn’t have them.
Yes, the signs of spring for your area. For us, where we live, we have those signs all year!
It is bad enough to have them 6-8 months of the year here!
We love your signs of spring. Gail and I also tend to ignore ‘trail closed’ signs. Although it doesn’t to as always work out for the best, as shown in my last but one blog post…
Toodle-oo!

Sometimes we do wind up in some trouble, but it doesn’t stop our mom from doing it again.
What wonderful signs of Spring…we do like the shade of orange they use on your Spring Signs …teeheehee

LOL! The dreaded season of road construction has begun. Soon there will be more green and flowers to compliment the road work signs.
Beautiful Daffies.
OMDs we saw a gazillion orange signs to from our road trip.
Hugs

They are popping up here like crazy and it is the worst on weekends and evenings. Mom always has to check our route when we are driving outside out town area.
Love your photos! I’m glad your drought is over, we fight those things lots here. Hey, we call our other season Road Destruction, they tear up more than they fix sometimes.
There is no end to road construction. They always find things to improve and fix.
Spring is in the air except in New York where winter seems to be hanging around.
Today we have snow showers and a wind chill in the 20’s, but that is normal spring in Minnesota, one day hot, the next day snow.
I hope you get some of the prettier signs of spring, like more flowers and fewer “sign” signs, soon.
In another week or two flowers will start to pop more. It’s still a bit early since we are getting snow showers still.
A storm blew through over the past couple of days-maybe with some help from the jetstream, you’ll get some white stuff.
We got snow showers yesterday, but now it will warm up again. Crazy weather!
