The end of the most colorful time of the year is near. Mom and I were walking early in the morning the beginning of the week, enjoying the colors and smells of the flowering trees and bushes. We think it is sad trees lose this beauty after such a short time. Why can’t the flowering trees keep the flowers until fall?
Mom’s favorite is the purple lilacs. She loves to stop and smell them which I find totally silly. She won’t stop to sniff a dead squirrel or other good stuff, but she stops for lilacs.
Both of us find the white ones rather boring, but some people plant them, so they must like them.
Some people had tulips randomly blooming in the middle of their yard. It looks rather odd, but I guess they like it. Most of the tulips are starting to fall apart now.
We are not sure what exactly this blooming bush is, but the deep pink color is pretty.
Mom loves the lilacs so much because of their smell. She says these are the prettiest flowers on trees, though. We don’t know what they are either. We are not a gardening family. Thankfully, one can enjoy any flowering plant or tree without needing to know what it is.
When everyone gets back from their trip out east, the flowers will most likely all be gone. I get to enjoy them for a few more days with my pet sitter, so I am lucky. It still is really a shame that the most colorful time of the year is so short lived.
We’re joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.

We would love all of the flowering trees to stay in bloom too and the lilacs are so beautiful and they smell so heavenly!
Mom loves sniffing the lilacs.
Yes, lilacs have an extraordinary fragrance …
Mom loves them!
What lovely pictures.
It is the pretty time of year.
BEAUTIFUL! Yes, early Spring is so lovely and fragrant. Lucky you, Bailie.
It is so pretty!
What is it with humans and flower sniffing? There are wonderful smells on the ground!! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
We all feel the same way.
Bailie
WOW what a beautiful display of Nature blooming. I agree I wish the blooms would last.
We’ll get one more set of blooms from our Crepe Myrtles in July…they love the heat.
Hugs Cecilia
It would be so nice if they lasted all summer.
I agree with you that the blooms should last longer. It sees when the trees are full of blossoms, we get a storm or winds and the blossoms are gone. I have a lilac bush and sniff it too!
Or a rainstorm!
Those are such pretty flowers and we agree, it’s a shame that all the beautiful colours don’t last for longer.
I think maybe us pups should get extra walkies at this time of year, so everyone gets out more, and has more time to enjoy the lovely blooms!
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
We love all the color when we are out and about!
What a beautiful selection of flowers, Bailie…purple lilacs are our favorite too…funny enough, everybody wishes the white ones grew down here…
Have a nice rest of the weekend!

White ones are rather boring I think.
I love the lilacs
We do too, except when Mom has to keep stopping to sniff them.
Yes, they sure are pretty and it looks like you have a most wonderful out n’ about!
I get my walks and I love them.
I agree, it would be nice if the spring flowers lasted until the fall foliage colors.
That would be ideal!
Look at all those pretty lilacs! I can almost smell them. Pretty flowers, guys. Have a lovely weekend enjoying all those gorgeous spring flowers.
I’m the only one home, but I will enjoy them.
