Nelson and I had a nose work weekend. Friday Nelson had an NW3 Trial, Saturday morning he had an L2V Trial and in the afternoon I had an L3V Trial. Sunday I went on a mommy and me morning to a nose work seminar. The weekend was a lot of fun filled with sniffing.
Nelson had hoped to get his final NW3 Title Friday, but it was not meant to be. He missed one container in his container search. The good news is he still earned a leg, so one more leg or a clean title and he will be done with NW3. We are proud of him as he still placed tenth overall out of thirty eight dogs. It rained all day Friday, so there are no photos. There was a professional phototgrapher, but we won’t have those photos for at least a month. Nelson wanted to show you all his first search of the day. He did really well finding all the hides. Only ten dogs found the third one.
Saturday morning he also had a problem with his Level 2 Vehicle Trial. Unfortunately, he missed one hide in the third search, so no title. On the positive side, he did get a leg since otherwise his searches were perfect. He will try again next time we can find an L2V to enter.
I had my Level 3 Vehicle Trial Saturday afternoon. It is rather tricky as hides are ranges, and times are pretty short. Mom and I had a blast searching together. In the end, I earned my title, and I placed second out of all the dogs. I’m also the first GBGV to earn this title. We got to search some farm vehicles like this one behind me, a tractor with manure spreader. See my little smile?
This is a video of one of my four vehicle searches. It was super fast and I placed first in that search. I had two minutes of time to find one to three hides. Turns out there were two, and Mom called it correctly. I kept trying to leave the area because there was nothing else, and she trusted me.
It wasn’t a perfect nose work weekend, but we are happy with the results.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

Love watching you guys work and we love your happy faces when your mom gives you your treat reward for a find!
Nelson and I love our sniffing. Bailie and Madison like sniffing too, but they don’t have the love for it like the two of us do.
Awesome!
We both had a lot of fun.
We always love seeing the videos from searches. Mom says it is so interesting. She even thinks that she can see a difference between how Nelson searches and how Olivia searches. She noticed how confident Olivia was that there was nothing left to search after she found the two. Great post!! We love it all — you all have a great bounce to your steps!! your friend Chester
Awww, thank you. I am three years older than Nelson for one thing, and I have a lot more experience under my furry belt. Nelson is very good for his age. We do have different search styles. I’m more of a high speed whirlwind spiraling through a search area picking off hides as I go. Nelson is more orderly in his searching and more thorough. When I am done, I want to go and I let Mom know. Nelson would keep working the same place forever and not try to leave. All four of us have our own search styles, and Mom has to adjust depending on who is in the search with her. She says Nelson and I are the most fun, though.
It looks like lots of fun was had so that’s a win too!
As long as we all have fun, that is the main thing. Doing well and getting a title is a bonus.
Dang, Olivia! You nailed it! What is really neat is your mom trusted you. Team Orange rocks! Nelson, you also did a fabulous job — even I could tell you very clear alerts!! “you da man!”
Mom and I have a lot of experience and we are a well oiled machine when it comes to reading and knowing each other. Nelson and Mom will get there. He has three more years of experience to get to the place Mom and I are at and it will come. He will always have a different search style as each of us do. Mom knows how to work with each of us and that is part of her challenge.
Nelson you have the happiest tail …it made me smile I can see how you enjoy searching.
Congrats Olivia

Our work is fun for us 🙂
You’re a superstar, Nelson. We’re all so proud of you and especially your mom.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the pups and a hug do mom. ♥
Olivia and I both love our sniffing but we are different hounds and have our own styles. Mom adapts depending on who she is working with.
We always enjoy seeing you and Nelson having so much fun, Olivia…you both were born to be sports dogs!

Mom says our family is divided between us two younger ones who are sports crazy and the older two who do sports but are not as good or interested.
You guys are the best. Mom needs to move a little faster
LOL, sometimes she can’t keep up, but then I wait for her when I find something.
You did great, earning legs and a title! Congratulations!
We will never be upset about a leg, one only needs two of those for a title. It was a good weekend. Nelson is still very young to be at the levels he is at.
You guys know how to keep the ole sniffer working great. Well done.
Thank you. We had fun.
your videos were fun to watch! Great job!!
Thank you. We do enjoy our work/sports.
