Well, I made a Grand exit from NW3 Nose Work last Saturday. Mom said our only goal was to get the heck out of the NW3 level and move on to Elite. Team Lime Green was successful and more. Mom says I am still her most reliable GBGV because I work very hard and methodically.
At NW3 there are six searches over the course of the day. On Saturday, we had an exterior, a four vehicle, two interior, an interior container, and a container search on grass. It was hotter than ever and there wasn’t much shade. My tongue was practically dragging on the ground but I kept going.
Mom forgot the GoPro, so we don’t have any videos, but that’s alright. There were eleven hides total from the six searches. We spent almost the max time in each search because Mom didn’t want to make more than one mistake the entire day. I was ready to leave a lot earlier, but she had me keep checking around. At the end of the day, guess what? We found all the hides! Not only did we find them all, we were the only team out of thirty eight teams to find all the hides!
I think the new shirt worked as a lucky charm for Team Lime Green! Because I placed first, it means I got a lot of ribbons and I got the coveted tin. The tin is only for first place and it has all the Q-Tips with the odor from the hides of the day. The tin is for first place in all levels, not just NW3 nose work.
Here you can see my big NW3 Elite ribbon, my third NW3 ribbon, first place ribbon and the tin. You need three NW3 Titles to move on to Elite. I earned my other two in May.
Mom was so shocked by first place and being the only team to find all the hides she teared up at the awards ceremony. It makes me happy that she is so happy. For a lot of years she never thought she would have a dog that could place and then Olivia came along, and now I’m doing it too.
Now for the other fun fact, look at the NW3 Elite Title list by breed. Notice any kind of monopoly on this? Mom loves having a rare breed and getting so many breed firsts. I rather like it too!
To celebrate, we stopped at the butcher shop on the way home and got smoked beef tendons for everyone…except Mom, she didn’t want one. I got the biggest one and boy was it tasty. By the way, Olivia better look out. I earned this title a month earlier than she did, and she didn’t have a first place ribbon until the middle of her Elite career. Flying under the radar like I do, I’m gradually sneaking up on some of her records.
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!

Congratulations to you and your mom, Nelson! Your ribbons are beautiful and your tin – so very special!
We are still celebrating and are so shocked and happy.

I’m doing my best to promote French scent hounds 🙂
Oh my goodness, that is fabulous and super big congratulations for that amazing day!!!
We are still amazed that no one else found them all. What a wonderful way to finish a level Mom really doesn’t like!
WOW OMDs WOW
Nelson I’m so proud of you for your extra special nose work and for making Mom so happy
I love your photos
Hugs Cecilia
Mom is over the top happy to finish it all off with first place. Even though she feels bad for not handling the way she likes to, she is thrilled to be done and now we can really have some fun.
I feel a new Olympic sport coming. You would certainly get the gold! Your the bestest.
Olivia and I are the sports dogs around here, that is for sure!
Three cheers for Nelson!!! I am so excited for you and your Mom.
Mom was totally shocked and never expected any placements because she made me keep working like a dog until the time was almost up. Normally, she quits when I tell her, but she didn’t and it worked out. Crazy!
Nelson ~ Bravo ! ~ awesome doggie and kudos to Mom too and your sibling Olivia ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Thank you, what a great way to end NW3!
You are a star, Nelson. Congratulations!
Mom knows I am good, but now I have a ribbon and tin with Q-Tips to prove it. She almost squeezed me to death when she came to the car with all the ribbons and tin to tell me how we did.
What a red letter day for you Nelson. Wow. I’m impressed. We all knew you were going to be a superstar. I know mom is proud of you and so are all of us.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to all the pups and a hug to mom. ♥
She says I’m her silent weapon. Olivia is loud and wild, everyone knows her and knows she is good. I’m a mellow, handsome fellow who does an orderly job and silently steals the show 🙂
Wow, what a Grand weekend you all had! Congratulations!
It was a very Grand day and I hope to have more of them in the future. Being #1 is a lot of fun.
Wow Wow Wow!!!! Congratulations to you and your mom! What an exquisite exit! So well done. So impressive. Mom was admiring your ribbons and the tin. I was admiring that beef tendon! What a good looking treat!!! Congrats on such an accomplishment! your friend Chester
The beef tendon was delicious and nice and big too! I really hit the jackpot by finding all the hides in that trial!
Bravo on scoring a perfect 100% on the finds. Well done, Nelson. You’re becoming quite the super star!
I’m the quiet one no one expects and then I swoop in and take it all.
