That fall feeling before summer returns means getting the wild pants on in the evening. We’ve had optimal weather with cool evenings that energize us all. Many trees are stressed from this odd summer so we are starting to see pretty leaves on the ground already. Fasten your seat belts and hold on tight. Nelson and I are about to blast off!
Let’s get this party started with a bit of a trot across the yard. Uh oh, Nelson seems to have is crazy eyes out!
I’m the faster dog by far, but Nelson is the more powerful one. Once he starts to push, pull, or grab, I don’t have many options.
Oh goodness, he is tickling me. Such a silly guy he is.
Now in the corner is where my agile self is an advantage. Nelson is like moving a cement block but I can fly around.
This is my big chance to get out in front of Nelson and break away from his tackling.
We are back to the race. That fall feeling in the air gives us added energy. I run two to three miles an hour faster than Nelson, so good luck catching me, buddy!
Can you see I’m starting to pull away from him. He will try hard to catch me, but there is no way he will. Now who has the crazy eyes I ask?
From here on out it is a simple race that I will easily win. I think I will race to the house so we can go inside and get some snacks. All this racing around makes a hound hungry. We love this fall feeling air but the weekend will be hot and humid again. At least we know fall is on its way.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

we so agree.. we will get summer back but till we are in another heatwave we enjoy some fall time..
We don’t like summer, but it is on the way back here. At least we know it won’t last very long.
Go, Olivia, Go! What fun to race and play in the cooler weather. We are loving these cooler temps too!
It brings the wild in us out for sure!
Ah, the memories ~ of our little beagle girl, Chesapeake Red, when she’d get her wild ‘n’ crazy pants on as autumn touched the air. Thanks for giving us a little walk down our own memory lane with your beautiful, fun photos!
Awww, memories are great! Happy weekend to you and June.
That was a nice big bunch of some run fun you two!
We don’t race around for all that long, but we race and wrestle hard.
Autumn came to Dixie for 3 days this week. Mornings in the mid 50’s and no humidity in the day time.
Alas it is over summer returns next week…love your title
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. It rained this morning but was nice and cool. Now the heat comes in along with humidity and heat indexes of around 100. Yuck. 3 cheers for A/C and napping.
I love all of you but you two are so funny
Mom says our family is divided and it is kind of true. We two younger ones are always up to something, Madison and Bailie are more refined and not as crazy.
That’s just such a brilliant sequence of photos.
We love the commentary too!
Thank you. We had a blast.
We are experiencing that same weather and loving it ~ Great photos of you doggies have such fun ~ hugs,

What Grand action photos! We are hoping for a few cooler days here.
Oh, what fun! I hope cooler weather comes back soon for you so you can do it all again.
I think the cooler weather will come back and it will be more fun.
Did you morph into a single entity?
Wow! You are a fast runner! We can tell–even in the pictures. Speedy Olivia! Great photos– mom and I both loved them. Have a great weekend. your friend Chester
It’s fun chasing around and doing a little wrestling with my brother, and he loves it too.
Summer is still going gangbusters in the Mile High. We hope things cool down soon. Enjoy those nicer temps.
We are in the ugly heat wave for a couple days but the nicer weather will be back the end of the week.
