Last weekend Mom and I took a walk around a steamy Sherwood Forest. Summer is winding down but flowers are still holding on it seems. Nature has covered the ponds in the yucky green stuff but it doesn’t bother the ducks one bit.
We saw these pretty, little orange flowers.
The purple button flowers are starting to fade and die off.
Evidently, the yellow button flowers are happier with the weather as they are still going strong.
These pink flowers look so delicate and pretty.
We also saw this tiny yellow flower which is so cute but lonely looking all by itself.
Of course, I saved the most important thing we saw for last…SQUIRREL!!! Squirrels are always out and about, even in a steamy Sherwood Forest! This guy froze coming down the tree so Mom was able to capture a shot of him with her phone camera.
That is it for my little late summer tour. Soon we hope leaves will be turning color, cold will blow in, and everything will be buried in snow. Who knows, we can’t control the weather, but a pup can hope!
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

The flowers are so beautiful and l’m surprised you didn’t chase that squirrel, Bailie! We are anxiously awaiting the cooler temps that will stay for a long while!
I’ve learned I can’t catch them if I am on a leash.
Gail is screaming “BUT SHERWOOD FOREST IS IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, WHERE I COME FROM ORIGINALLY”.
Really, I have no idea what the fuss is about. We now live in Aberdeen, Scotland, and according to a poster in are local park there are at least a dozen Aberdeens scattered all around the globe and so why should Nottinghamshire have a monopoly on Sherwood Forests?
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
PS I will allow that there is only one Robin Hood.
We have been through Aberdeen in South Dakota, one of the many I guess. I’m pretty sure there is really only one Robin Hood.
The plants love the steamy weather! Hope your weather starts to cool off soon.
This summer is like a jungle with all the green and plants.
That squirrel looks fake. You could have nailedhim
He was hanging there tormenting me, so Mom snapped his photo. Maybe he can star on a wanted poster?
Such wonderful photos of those beautiful flowers. That squirrel must have been on the lookout for Robin Hood!
He was just trying to get under my skin knowing I couldn’t run to him.
How beautiful! The flowers are hanging on in there! The ponds near me have turned green too but our ducks – and swans – don’t seem to mind either..
It looks horrible but the ducks and geese don’t care at all. I guess it happens every year and they are used to it.
Beautiful walk! How did that begonia get into the woods? You are terrific at finding unusual things to photograph.
Someone probably dropped seeds, or who knows what?
It really does look steamy…is that steam from heat..if so I sure am sorry ’cause that is hot.
Purrty poses and of course the squirrels are always around
Hugs Cecilia
It was really hot and very humid, which makes it feel like a steam bath.
You found some real beautiful flowers Bailie…We are glad Summer is winding down for you gals…we know you are Winter Girls!

Awww, thank you. Have a wonderful long weekend!
I’m glad you got a walk and saw the flowers, and the squirrels. They are entertaining.
Squirrels are always entertaining and frustrating!
I love your blooms
Thank you.
What a beautiful forest tour. We’re anxiously waiting for autumn’s arrival. Yesterday we even found a spot of changed leaves in a trees and they were quite reddish orange. Yay! Enjoy the holiday weekend.
We are enjoying gorgeous fall weather today, it is sooo nice!
Very pretty flowers but do you chase the squirrels?
We do if we are not on a leash 😉
