Whose handsome mug is in a magazine this month? None other than me, Nelson! Our family loves sniffing and we have really enjoyed sniffing at the Commemorative Air Force museum. This is a photo of me with an old jeep and a trailor with a few bombs on it. They have so many cool things at this place!
Madison was the first to trial here back in 2021 before I was even born. She had a great time and did really well. There was even a hide on a bomb in one of her searches! Of course, the bombs are not active. During trials, you are not allowed to take photos, so we don’t have photos of her sniffing. Olivia has also searched there twice, once for her vehicle title and the other time for a sniff and go.
I searched there for the first time in 2023 when I was a year old. We attended a sniff and go, so Mom could take photos of me in searches and walking around the hangar area. Someone was writing an article on dogs sniffing and the Commemorative Air Force Museum and needed photos for the article. This year it rained, so no new photos and it is why some of the dogs in the article are in the rain. Of course, Mom had a couple shots of me with old aircraft on a sunny day. He wrote a wonderful article which is in the Minnesota Flyer Magazine this month.
I’m so happy and excited to have my handsome mug in print for the first time. We sure hope we get another opportunity to practice some fun sniffing there again next year!

Wow, you’re famous! Of course, you were famous to us even before you were a “magazine mug”. PS, we enjoyed the article and seeing all the other sniffing-puppers hard at work. It’s important stuff they do, paws up to all (and you as well, Nelson!)
Mom says that Olivia and I are really good sniffers but she still isn’t sure she would want us to sniff out explosives as we might miss one. I guess those dogs can only be wrong once. Our sniffing is much more fun.

Sometimes it is a good thing to have a mom who is constantly taking photos. We are so used to it, we barely notice but when someone needs a photo, they get a hold of our mom. She has one for sure.

Maybe I should look into being a pilot or a dog working at the airport? Mom probably would say no, though. She doesn’t really fly anymore, too many hours of that in her past I think.
