Last weekend I was poinsettia shopping with Mom. We needed to get Gramma her big one for this year, and Mom needed to make another stop or two along the way. We are not fans of Christmas before Thanksgiving but we couldn’t resist the display at the General Store. Mom needed to do some shopping in this store on the way to the greenhouse.
On the front side of the store that is right off the highway, they had this display. Mom wanted to set me up on the bed with Santa, but since I am older, she didn’t want to risk me getting hurt, so I sat on the ground. This one looks great when you drive by!
Next we made it to the Lynde Greenhouse & Nursery. They have a lot of pretty planters out front. I like sniffing the pine needles.
Just inside the door they have another cute display. Once again I ran into the slippery floor thing when sitting. The employees were also distracting me because they said I am so cute and they wanted to pet me. I got lots of pets after my photo.
Mom says that Grandpa used to buy poinsettias for all his clients here way back in the seventies. They not only have all sizes of poinsettias, they have them as trees too.
Size isn’t the only choice, they have white, pink, and some other colors. We prefer the traditional red ones.
After the poinsettia shopping was complete, we stopped for one more photo of me in the adorable holiday display. Did you even notice me in all the fun stuff?
We always buy the triple poinsettia for Gramma. This is the one we chose and it looks great in her living room. She loves it too. Mom and I had fun but as always, the car part is not fun.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

You got to see Santa, Bailie, and the poinsettias are all so pretty and the red one looks beautiful in front of your Gramma’s fireplace!
They have such pretty things at that garden center and it is special since the family has been going there for so many years.
What grand displays at the General Store. It is odd how quickly a decision can lead to an action that becomes a tradition. May this Christmas season be the best ever four you and yours.
Thank you. Mom’s dad did start a wonderful tradition for the holidays.
You had a wonderful day outing, and of course, you are the most adorable part of all the photos.
Awww, thank you.
Cute pictures….I love the poinsettia poses….your mom takes to some of the neatest places!
I prefer to be a home body but I do get to go to some spots around our area that are interesting.
Nicely done Bailie! We triple admire your posing skills because we know the floor is slippery, folks were distracting you AND you had to ride in the car. Well done to you!!! You did a great job these are great photos. your friend Chester
Thank you. Home body is my favorite thing to be, but I appreciate that Mom wants me to see things outside of my house, so I go along.
Pointsettas sare poisonous things to dogs. Be careful.. we wouldn’t want anything to happen to you including mom.
No dog in this family has ever had any interest in a poinsettia as a puppy or adult dog. We don’t have one at our house just every few years Mom will have that urge. No worries.
Whoa Bailie you and Mom had me seeing RED everywhere and that makes me happy.
Looks like you both had lots of energy to shop, and snap and Oh those wonderful poses well done pretty girl
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. We love seeing a greenhouse full of pretty poinsettias and the other displays at the General Store were bonuses 🙂
What a great tradition, you picked out a beautiful poinsettia!

Gramma doesn’t do a tree anymore, so the big bright poinsettia gives the holiday feeling in the living room.
You two sure kicked off the Christmas season just right!
It’s so lat this year it seems weird but now we are going to get everything rolling around here.
Well Bailie Girl, for a non-rider, you sure got some mileage out of these photo shoots! and a beautiful poinsettia for Grandma to boot!
I have to go in the car sometimes and Mom takes advantage of that and we do some errands sometimes.
I’m so glad you are willing to tolerate the car for short trips with your mom, it’s such fun to see the places you go.
I would rather stay home but I love to visit Gramma and a car is the only way to get to her house so I go. I don’t get sick, I just shake and pant the whole time I am in the car.
You managed to find a really beautiful poinsettia for your Grandma. Well done on shopping and posing.
Thank you. She loves her big poinsettia.
