It’s party time for three. Three guests and for me turning three. Maybe I better find another guest for next year when I turn four? Let’s get this party started, I’ve been waiting and waiting to serve my treats.
This year I chose a carob snowflake cake for my party. It’s hard to get anything but cookies in lime green, so I went with the pretty blue, winter looking cake. No one in the family has every had a carob cake. Why not be the first to do it. When I tasted it, I liked it a lot. Mom also got me a new bow tie for my special day.
Mom set the table for us making it look all fancy, and I even have a gift next to my chair.
My guests arrived and we all took a seat for the usual birthday photo. I’m not sure what happened but for some reason I sat on the edge of my chair to be near Bailie but Olivia had her chair on her own island. Nevertheless, we all took a nice photo for our album.
Now for the really hard photo where our cake is served but we are not allowed to eat it until after we take a photo. Boy, it sure looks and smells good. Hurry up, Mom!
Yay, photo done and we get the word to dig in. It is like a competition, no time for savoring the flavor.
I think my sisters were surprised I ordered a flavor they had not had before, but they seem to really enjoy it.
Maybe next year we can sit at the other table or outside in the cold. The chairs are not that comfortable for me. I don’t want to worry about my chair when I want to be eating my birthday cake.
That is enough of the manners thing. I learned from Madison that it is often easier to simply eat the cake on the floor. Let’s give that a try.
Honestly, I don’t think my sisters even noticed I left with my piece of cake. The floor makes it much easier to tackle, not having to worry about falling off a chair.
Olivia and Bailie are working away on their cake. Neither of them seems to even entertain the thought of eating on the floor.
A guy needs to get serious with his birthday cake, so my hat is off as well. I’m going to finish tackling this deliciousness now!
It looks like Bailie loves my choice of cake and Olivia does too but doesn’t have time for silliness. I will call my party time for three a success. Stay tuned tomorrow for my presents and some bloopers. Happy guests make for a happy birthday and happy birthday boy!

Great choice on cakes, Nelson, and the photos are wonderful and you made us smile a lot! Happy 3rd Birthday to you!
Thank you. Carob is pretty tasty in case you ever get to try something carob.
Happy Birthday dear nelson, you picked the best cake… and if you want, we can come when you turn 5… what a fun huh? :o)))))
Oh, that would be fabulous as then we would have five guests!
Happy Birthday! Hope you guys all have fun today!
My party was on Saturday. Today we will have brief speed play in the yard since it is a below zero all day kind of day. We did our 20 minute walks already.
Awesome photos! And, yes, good idea to get off the chair. Time to focus on the cake. It looks like it was a super successful party. Can’t wait to see what you got in the bag!! Happy Birthday! your friend Chester
I felt kind of bad leaving but I really wanted to get serious about eating my cake. Hopefully next year we will have my party in the dining room.
Nobody (no puppers, that is) throw a party the way you-all do! Happy Nelson Day! (hey, we’ll volunteer to be the 4th next year, btw … )
Oh, that would be fun to have a cat at the party. Our cats never came to our parties.
Oh, sorry, about the 4th volunteer thing … mine Mommy says “not” as I’d never keep a hat on my head and my table manners, well, there aren’t any! JUNE
You are a cat, so we understand.
Nelson what an excellent selection the Carob cake was a lip smacking success….I must confess I would have love a nibble too. Excellent group photo and you are all so very well manner. You know I get weak in the knees at a man in a bow tie and a hat..
Hugs Cecilia
Mom loves me in a bow tie. My collection is growing.
Can I come to your next party? They look like so much fun. I can be your fourth at four unless you have something else in mind
We never thought about three at a third or four at a fourth until last weekend. Right now it is looking like three at a fourth. Bailie will need twelve in June, but I don’t think we will get that done.
WE HERE, concur that carob is a fabulous flavor! The Yummy of chocolate, without the tummy of ….well …you know if you ever ate that stuff – it makes you sick as a dog. Jimmy Parker, Olive and Lydia
We have never eaten chocolate but Mom always loved chocolate cake so she thought we all would enjoy the carob and I agreed after tasting it at the bakery.
What a fun party and you picked the perfect treat for your birthday, Nelson. Well done.

Thank you. It was a small, fairly quiet party but we had a good time.
Carob is a Grand flavor! Yes, a delicious treat like that should be enjoyed in comfort on the floor!!
For me, the chair was just not comfortable so why not eat on the floor?

The cake was really good and my sisters loved my choice too.
Yum, yum, yum, that was such a fun time for the three of you with that fabulous yum!
Thank you. We had a fun time but that cake disappeared way too fast!
I wish you many happy returns of your birthday and lots more chances to have cake.
Thank you. I sure hope there will be a lot more birthdays for me.
A festive and colorful party! Smart thinking about devouring that pretty cake on the floor! Happy Barkday, Nelson. Sorry we were late to your party. We’re still trying to catch up from our hospital visits.
Blogs are around for a long time, so there is no rush. Glad the hospital job is working for the pups. Bailie would be a fantastic therapy dog but mom doesn’t have the time or interest to get into that. We will stick to our sports.
