Mom and I went to the Vulcan Snow Park 2025 last weekend. Usually we go on Sunday but this time we thought we would see what the beginning looks like. My mom put me on top of a block of snow for the above photo which was kind of a cool idea for looks and for my little behind.
I was at the snow park back in 2020 when I was just a puppy. Madison and I took it in and we saw this same sculpture. I apologize for my messy furs but it was super windy. Even the car door blew shut on Mom’s leg when she was getting me out of the car! We brushed my furs before we left home but didn’t use hairspray.
Being the beginning of the weekend, not much had been completed. The sculptors were busy, busy, starting to get their sculptures in order.
In case they need more snow, there are huge piles around the area where they can get more snow as needed. Kids were climbing all over it, so I thought I would give it a climb as well.
We found the Take Out sculpture starting to take shape. The container box and chopsticks are able to be seen. Most likely it is Chinese take out.
The credit union sculpture is almost done and looking pretty good. While we were there, it was crazy how popular I was. Everyone wanted to meet me, pet me, and find out all about my breed. I’m not really big on strangers petting me, so I did a lot of my leaping into Mom’s arms which the people loved.
For my last sculpture which is completed, I have the competition logo. We decided next time we will wait to go until Sunday as Mom has previously done. Even though a lot of it was not done, it was still a fun outing and it felt really good to get back into the car and crank up the heat! That’s a wrap of my Vulcan Snow Park 2025 Trip.

What a fun trip and the snow looks so cold and the ice sculptures are beautiful! That is one place we would love to visit!
Since it was only the first day, most sculptures were not even started but it was fun to see it that way as well as finished. It is a fun place to visit.
That looks like a great event to visit. Even though the sculptures are still under construction, what has already been done looks great.
We go every couple years and see the finished ones but wanted to go earlier this year to see how it all begins.

Thank you for the email, Mom is so happy to have her questions answered. There are ice sculptures too but they are in a different town. There is also an ice castle but no dogs allowed and it is surrounded by a tall fence so you can’t photograph it from afar.

It was cold that day so we did freeze a bit.

Guess what? Mom is weight-bearing! Did we tell you that? But she is still in a boot. Today she went to physical therapy. The dude there said her foot is in good shape! Did your mom walk a distance in her boot? Mom hasn’t really ventured too far yet – I am ready when she is!!! your friend Chester
Mom never had the weight bearing restriction so she walked all the time with the boot. After 6 weeks the bottom is all worn off as she walked miles with the dogs every day. The first week or two not as much but then, back to full speed. Go on Amazon and order an even up or your mom will be totally out of alignment. It makes a HUGE difference. Mom wore that out too. It makes your shoe foot and boot foot at pretty much the same level. Doctors never tell you about it.

It’s really fun when they are all carved but we wanted to see more of the in progress for something different.

It was bitterly cold with the windchill but I was plenty warm.
Snow sculptures are great! I agree, though, you can only stay out in it just so long, then you want a heater.
There was a nasty windchill that morning but we still had a nice time.
The sculptures are very pretty and you found some good spots. Did you find any Vulcans in the park?
No, we have never seen the vulcans there. They may come by at night.
You’re so right…we were of like minds 😉 Wish I could have watched the sculpture show I visited from the beginning. To watch 20 ft. tall blocks transform into amazing carved art would have made it all the more amazing.
It is fun to see them working on their creations. We have never stayed to watch a whole sculpture develop as it takes all day or longer but it is fun to see how they work with the snow. We are not even sure if maybe the smaller sculptures are more difficult to carve than the large ones but it is always fun to go and see the sculptures.
