I say, stay smoochable! No one wants to have bad teeth. Bad teeth means smelly breath, losing teeth, not being able to enjoy food and treats. It’s Pet Dental Health Month, a good time to evaluate your pet’s teeth and dental care. We keep our teeth in the best shape we can with a few simple things. None of us want to have to go in for a dental cleaning. Mom even has a dental tool that she can scrape our teeth with if there is anything developing and we don’t mind it at all.
Natural Chews And Treats
Mom is a fan of single ingredient, all natural treats and chews for us. Almost every evening we get something to chew on like bully sticks, half pigs ears, trachea, duck feet, gullet sticks and more. We love them and they help our mouths produce saliva to wash away any of the stuff that doesn’t belong in our mouths.
PlaqueOff
At breakfast time we get Plaqueoff sprinkled on top of our meal. We eat raw which has ground bone and organ meat in it. These things too help keep our teeth clean but the Plaqueoff is really good stuff. When our vet asked last summer how we keep our teeth so clean and we told her what we put on our food she said, “I love that stuff.” We have also found the price varies by time of year. Mom buys several containers at once and saves about 25% over the price a couple months later.
Brushing Our Teeth
The final key to remaining smoochable at our house is brushing our teeth. We brush almost every night when we get into bed. The toothpaste tastes good and since we start brushing as puppies, it is simply another part of our daily life. We actually enjoy it.
Don’t forget about your pet’s dental health, it is not only for her teeth. Bad teeth can cause problems for overall health if not treated in a timely manner.
We’re joining Brian’s Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

We use Plaqueoff too! Our vet recommended it for Molly and I use it too!
We didn’t think it would make a difference but it is amazing stuff. Mom heard about it from breeders and our last groomer and it really works!
the mama fights against the plaque but we are a breed with weird teeth…. but we do out best ;o)
Did you try PlaqueOff? It comes from Sweden. I would think you could get it in Europe. I bet it would do wonders for you guys.
You have the best mom. She rakes such care of you.
She does her best and she works hard to keep us in our lifestyle we enjoy.
This is so important. But I am terrible for mom. I don’t let her brush my teeth … I don’t like when she puts anything extra on my food .. I make it really difficult. She doesn’t give up but it isn’t fun for either of us! great post, important information! your friend Chester
Have you ever tried Plaqueoff on your food? It is a powder and I bet you would not even notice it is on there. It would be a huge help for your teeth. Brushing isn’t for everyone but we do it starting as puppies so it is just another thing we grew up with.

Lots of dogs do enjoy Greenies. Mom is big on all natural stuff around here so we don’t get Greenies or other “dental” chews. She has us following the same things she does.
Timely post just bought my favorite toothpaste today Arm & Hammer…love the taste the smell and how clean it makes my mouth feel
Hugs cecilia
You should try our beef or salmon flavor, it is really yummy but Mom says humans probably wouldn’t like it.
Such great advice for clean and healthy teeth!!

Mom wants to keep our teeth healthy so we never need to have any removed. We do our best.
Your wonderful Mom is on top of your dental health and that really is a wonderful thing. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Life without teeth would not be something anyone wants, so we work to keep them strong and healthy.
I’ve got no Valentine will you be my valentine?
We have plenty of room for more valentines!
Those are great tips! I wonder if they make Plaqueoff for cats and if mine would eat it.
You can put the powder on the cat food or they also have treats you could try.
We like the poultry flavored toothpaste.
Madison loved salmon but normally we get beef or poultry.
Such great advice. Good dental health can make such a difference in complete wellness. Thanks for reminding us February is canine dental health month.
A healthy mouth is important for pets and for people too. Some people don’t realize bad teeth can cause all kinds of other health issues.
