Love is in the backyard air at our house. Really it isn’t anything new as I have been trying to win over my beautiful, big neighbor girl for a while now, but this week is Valentine’s week.
Rosie really likes to tease me and play hard to get. I try begging her to be my girlfriend. Am I not good enough for her? It is hard for me to understand how she can ignore me. Maybe she saw my dating profile online? That could cause a problem.
Next I try getting down, bowing to her as if she is a real queen of some country. Come on girl, how can you keep resisting me?
When all else fails, I’m not afraid to get up on my back paws, right in her gorgeous face and give her some kisses. It is embarrassing that Mom caught this on camera, but I don’t care. I need to win over the girl next door because I feel that love is in the backyard air here.
Just like that, a bit of smooching and then she leaves me at the fence. Why? Maybe she is right that I am too small for her but I have a super large personality in my adorable self.
There is nothing else to do but plan my Valentine’s Day gift for my girl. A cute Snoopy, heart shape box of treats and a scratch and sniff Valentine. Pretty simple but thoughtful I feel. Most likely I will go with the “Be Mine” valentine. Hopefully she will be out in her yard on Friday so I can give her my gift and valentine.

Nelson, you are just too darling!!! Rosie is just not the right girl for you, but I hope you will have a love affair in the future. Ya gotta go on the show road for that first, while you are young and strong so you can beat the other boys out there.
I am pretty much done with the show ring and that is fine with me and my mom. Neither of us enjoyed it really. I am sticking to my sports.
Nelson, I applaud your enthusiasm and take charge attitude, but some girls just take longer to convince that you’re the guy of their dreams.
She will be sorry if I hook up with another girl.

Nelson I must tell you that in my opinion it is Rosie’s loss…if she decides not to pick you, you are funny, a great athletic, you live with 3 ladies so you know how to treat a lady. She needs to come to the understanding that what is perfect for us is most often in our own backyard…at least that is what my 2nd cousin when he found the girl of his dreams after kissing lots of witches.

She is and I get tired of that game but she doesn’t seem to.
I am sure Rosie likes you, but probably mostly as a playmate. Like Karen said, you gotta play the show circuit if you want to find some true love….
Yeah, I will stick with a friend to play with over the show world. Mom and I don’t enjoy that at all and those kind of dogs are boring for the most part.
