Awww, it’s a musical Monday as we visited the new Hard Rock Cafe in Rockford, Illinois. We have passed by a couple times but finally decided to stop and check it out.
This is a sixty two foot, ten inch replica of Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen’s iconic checkerboard Hamer electric guitar. It was installed at the new Hard Rock Cafe in Rockford in August of 2024, a week before the casino opened. Rick Nielsen is a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, who grew up in Rockford and is a storied guitar collector.
It is definitely a different looking guitar and a fun find. Unlike the Tulsa Hard Rock which has numerous small guitars outside, the new casino has only this one for now.

That guitar makes the two of you look so tiny, Olivia and Nelson!
Those Hard Rock guitars are ginormous!
wow rockn roooollllll!!!!!!!! we love that guitar!!!
It’s a cool one isn’t it?
That one make you two looking so small
We are small in comparison.
Lucy says, “Long live rock ‘n roll!” That reminds me of the huge baseball bat in front of the Louisville Slugger museum and factory.
Maybe we need to pay that place a visit one day?
Love that Hard Rock guitar thanks for posing there
Hugs cecilia

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the pups and a hug to mom. ♥
Sadly we can’t go inside but we are happy to pose with the big guitar outside.
Whoah…what a cool guitar!! The pawrents went to the old Hard Rock Cafe in Vegas once and said it was a fun place!

This is the second one we have been too, but only outside. Mom has been to some other ones and gone inside too but she isn’t a gambler.
Wonderful photos, the guitar is huge. The pups are so cute.
Thank you.
It’s certainly going to be a landmark and you two are rock stars to me.
It is still very new and they have lots of building and things left to do as it starts to grow in popularity.
Love your photo! You only need one guitar when it’s so big and famous!
That is a very good point!
