Our Lucy has lost most of her hearing since November, but there is nothing wrong with her sniffer. She can smell a dog treat from the next room and she sniffs nearly every blade of grass in the yard when she goes outside.

Mom’s Kuvasz was almost completely deaf when she got older but it didn’t bother her at all. Mom actually liked it because she was no longer afraid of fireworks or thunder. We all use hand signals with our commands so it was a pretty easy condition to live with.

Mom is always frustrated with us in the spring because all the smells come out of the ground and we can’t sniff enough.

Rabbits stink up our whole yard and we track them around.
Must be some fine sniffing there – maybe a rabbit or squirrel stopped by?
Both come in our yard but the rabbits are what we really are interested in.
Fun to have a sibling to sniff with.
