Last weekend Mom took me to Excelsior on the lake. It is a popular town right on Lake Minnetonka. Since it was a beautiful day and evening, we took this photo of me with the mural and then walked a bit down by the lake.
The mural is only about two blocks from the “port”. The town was pretty busy and there were a lot of dogs out and about which is why I could not get focused on having my photo taken. Emma had been to Excelsior a couple times and said it was dog friendly, thus all the dogs.
Most of the docks are locked off but this one was open and we decided to take a photo here.
We walked along the shoreline to a big park and up the hill to the lookout point. Here you can see a long way and it is amazing how big this lake is. What you see is only a small portion of it. It was getting a bit windy as rain was on the way in.
Walking back to our car we saw the Lady of the Lake. It s a boat you can charter but it is a special boat. Mom had her wedding reception on this boat out on the lake many years ago. It was when she was a flight attendant and a pilot/flight attendant couple she knew owned the boat at the time. She said it was a fun time. Now the boat is owned by a company but it looks the same on the outside.
The sun was setting and it was cooling off with the wind so we grabbed one last photo of me in Excelsior on the lake. Mom wants to take me here again during the day when we can go in the stores along the main street. We will see when that happens, if it ever does. Hope you enjoyed my little tour.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

The Port and docks look like a fun place to wander and The Lady of the Lake is a very pretty boat!
It is an old paddle boat. Mom said it was fun for a celebration on the lake.
you are a super tour guide… we would love to take a ride in that paddle ship… like tom sawyer and huckleberry finn ;o)
Mom says it was a fun time.
What a beautiful place for a walk…we especially like the picture of you on the pier, Bailie!

Thank you. It was a beautiful night.
Bailie what a lovely post and such memories too. You are, in my opinion, now Lady of the Lake.

Oh my, I kind of like that!
You look very happy near the water; glad you could cope with the ride in the car for such a lovely day/
Well, I don’t have a choice but I do love to see Gramma, so I do it for her mainly.
I love your photo updates! You guys look happy!
It was a beautiful evening for a walk by the lake.
It looks like a fun place to visit!
It is a great little town.
That was a fun adventure and you look very pretty by the lake! Your Mom should buy that boat for you.
I don’t think I would like a boat ride since I don’t even like a car ride, LOL!
Am still kind of amazed at how many beautiful and interesting places there are to be found, to visit … in your home state …
We still have lots of things we have not seen too.
Oh, Wow! It looks lovely!! I would love to live nearby!! Looks like you and your mom had a nice walk! And that “Lady of the Lake” paddle boat looks like she’d be fun to take a ride on!
Mom said it was great for a gathering. Lake Minnetonka is a wonderful lake and very well known around the area.
What a beautiful place to visit to see nature in action.
It is a really nice little town.
You sure got to see/visit a lovely spot! How cool that your Mom had her wedding reception on that pretty boat!
It was a long time ago, but she says the boat looks exactly the same.
