Welcome to my week in the great outdoors via my walks. We went from nineties and A/C to highs some days in the low forties, sunshine, rain, high winds, no winds, it was quite a crazy week! One thing is constant, that is we walk no matter what mornings and evenings.
We planted our flowers right before it got cold out. The flowers seem to like the cooler weather. I think it is better than the scorching heat. Mom even put out the deck furniture.
On a morning walk I saw this pretty flowering tree.
We also saw these pretty pink flowering things on a tree. It made Mom tear up because of the pink reminding her of Madison, our pink girl.
The wind has been fierce in the great outdoors this past week with sometimes gusts of up to fifty miles per hour! On one walk we saw this big tree that was broken from the wind.
But the worst thing is that the broken branch landed on the road and blocked one lane.
Turns our rabbits like cold and wet. We have seen more rabbits than ever this past week. Mom says she is losing her mind as we are all so crazy when we see them hopping around.
The most interesting thing we saw all week is this squirrel. There are a lot of white albino squirrels racing around our area with the gray squirrels. We think two of them fell in love and the result is this cool half and half squirrel with the red albino eyes. Mom has never seen anything like it before. Usually squirrels are never still making photos tough but this one sat there as it is was modeling for us. Weird all around!
Finally at the end of the week, rain and more cold moved in, like a couple inches of rain! We walked and walked in the blowing rain as we always do. Now we are back to cool weather but sunshine. It’s perfect in our opinion. Too bad the heat is heading back this way.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.

The flowers and flowering tree are so pretty and it’s sad about the broken branch. This has been the windiest year that we can remember. We have never run into an albino squirrel yet. He sure is strange looking!
wow a white squirrel!!! is that the squirrel king maybe?
White ones we see a lot but not the half and half one.
Lots of lovely pictures! Our weather is all over the place too!
It is just nuts really!
Looks like a beautiful week in you neighborhood, Bailie. We would love to chase that squirrel and wonder if the different colors make him faster? teeheehee
The heat has moved here for the summer we think, and we miss the cooler days.
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
We still have cool dry air with sunshine and are loving it!
I think Madison planted pink flowers there to tell you she is always watching over the family.
Everywhere Mom goes and everything she sees is pink these days. Maybe it is Madison’s work but it only makes her very sad.
Yes, it has been wild weather all over. Maybe you have a whole family of those albino squirrels!
Albino ones are all over the place the the half and half we have never seen before.
Bailie OMDs you had 4 seasons in a week. Just plain crazy weather lately. It has been windier here over the last 8 or 9 months than I ever remember. Not breezy but windy. I was putting out a fresh hummingbird feeder the other day it was wind and dang a small limb fell on my noggin. thankful it was not larger
This weekend is predicted to be very chilly. We are expecting the 50’s over night next 2 nights
Hugs and have a safe weekend extra hugs to Mom and tell her I understand.
Cecilia
We have perfect weather this weekend, 60-70, low humidity, not much wind and sunshine, so nice but the heat is on the way back.
Mother Nature is NOT AMUSED with how we humans are messing with the climate! Great (though scary – some) of these photos
The climate is in a big mess.
In spite of the weather, you saw some beautiful and interesting things. Thank you for sharing them with us!
If you look, you can always find good things to see.
You doggie are awesome and nature is not fun lately I guess in most places ~ It feels like winter here and cloudy and rainy ~ great nature photos ~ thanks, hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

It is very weird the past few years, hopefully it will straighten itself out soon and not get crazier.
You do have some interesting critters hanging around your place!
The half and half squirrel is the craziest.
What fun !
So sorry about the damage Nature caused with the trees. Sounds like Mother Nature has been uniformly cranky across the country. And like you, we walk, rain or shine. We got drenched the first of the week but loved the love 40’s to begin the day. You’re right, cooler days help newly planted flowers settle in and adapt. Wilson and I planted ours and a couple of days later discovered the formed strawberries were turning red and we even found a baby fig on a Mother’s Day gift from my daughter. It’s about the size of a pea but I couldn’t have been more excited. Enjoy your walks in a beautiful part of the country.
Thank you. Our damage is small compared to what has happened around other parts of the country. Weather has gotten very cranky lately.
