Happiness is sniffing in a sauna, if it is your only option. As you can see from my tongue, it was a “bit” hot out at my trial. Mom and I had an Elite trial Sunday when it was sunny, ninety five degrees and a heat index of one hundred five. We are not fans of the heat, but even if it is like a sauna, I will do my best to sniff out all the hides. I love my sniffing! We cover our car with aluminet shades and there are Ryobi fans one each back window where I am hanging out. The wind also helped it not feel as hot.
In the end, I rocked three searches but kind of bombed my first one. Why, I have no idea. There were seventeen hides to be found all day and I found fourteen. I didn’t get an overall placement but I was eighth out of twenty eight dogs. Most important, I earned my Elite 3 Title! Now about four more trials and I will be done with Elite.
Speaking of sniffing in a sauna, my last search of the day was upstairs in the locker room, no A/C. It was toasty but I shifted my nose into turbo nose gear and sniffed out the known number of three hides in one minute eight seconds. The time was good enough to earn me a third place for that search. The video above is my search. It sure was a hot day of searching and we were tired out when we got home but it was a good and fun day too. Now I have a weekend off before hitting the road again.

Thank you. Some dogs don’t work in the heat but I love working so I can deal with it for a day.
A for effort (even tho it begins with “E”) and an A for doing so very well … in the heat and humidity you performed at peak we imagine … and like Duke said, while wearing a fur coat!
I worked hard like always the whole day but my first search I was just a bit off for some reason.

Sometimes she wears green for me or orange for Olivia but usually she has the pink on. She likes it a lot too but they are not making it anymore so she has to find something else when she runs out.

I did try to go into the locker room bathroom but Mom said not we were not searching there. The whole day was a sauna, LOL!
Sniffin’ in a sauna…all that steam is good for your furs and for Mom’s skin.

I didn’t find any smelly things but it is summer break so the kids cleaned out their stuff for the summer I think.
WOW! Sniffing in that heat? You ARE awesome! The Z Kids want to run around the back yard chasing the squirrels all day. I’m exaggerating a bit, but I do have to set the timer on my phone whenever we go outside to make sure we come back inside and chill before we get too dehydrated.
We don’t want to be out much in the heat so Mom doesn’t need to worry but I love to do my sniffing so that I will do anytime I can.

My goodness…you really rolled out the tongue! Sorry it’s so hot, buddy. Hope the temps come down soon. We’re not like the high temps made doubly unpleasant with high humidity.
