Smile, it’s World Emoji Day! Today we celebrate these silly things we see all over on our emails and text messages. They make things more fun, most of the time. The smile is the most used, of course. Emojis began in Japan in the 1990’s and have grown over the years to over 3500 officially recognized ones. The idea of emojis began in 1963 with the smiley face. At the time no one knew what the smiley would do to the world and communication.
Some of our favorites are the cool shades, of course the party emoji, hugs are always good, and we love to laugh. Rolling eyes happen a lot around here. Mom needs a megaphone to yell for us when we are howling, and the silly tongue out one is fun. Hope you have a chance to use some good emojis to celebrate World Emoji Day today. We are thankful they came about as they make communications so much more fun and interesting!

Wonderful! I have a subscription to THE ATLANTIC and the August issue has an article called “What Are Emoji?” …
fascinating history.
They are super fun and we had no idea of their history until now. Smileys seem to have existed forever.
We love our smile emoji and we use it a lot☺
We have a couple favs we use a lot. They are all fun and they bring out smiles too.
there are some who became really good friends over the years… and they can say more than any word..
They just need a quick glance and we know what they are saying.
If I knew how to use an emoji I would send you a whole bunch of no idea where to find them. 😀😁😛😛😝😌🙂☺️😆😀😄🥹😊🙃😍😋😜🤗🤠👍guess hat I just found them. First time using emoji but don’t know how to make them bigger
They are always small online but you can download bigger sizes like I did for my post. Now you learned something new!
There are emojis for just about everything and everywhere now. Sometimes they save finding the words to express a thought.
They are fun, make one smile and are super easy to show a feeling.
Sweet doogie photo and smiles make everyone feel better ~ takes less energy supposedly to smile than frown ~ hugs ~
an artist reflects ~ (carol and ziggy)
And if someone smiles at you, you have to smile back, it is like a reflex.
OMDs what a fun day. I like the cool shades, the bday and LOL so hard you have tears
Thanks for the fun
Hugs Cecilia

Smile and the world smiles with you!
They can be such fun, although I don’t use them very often. I always remember, “Use your words” from school.
We use mostly words but tossing in an emoji in texts or comments make it more fun sometimes. Smileys are the one we use the most.
I always think of Forrest Gump whenever I see the smiley emoji. 😊
LOL!
