We are always thankful for good dog friendly hotels. There are a few chains we tend to stay at and have had good luck when staying there but sometimes we try a new one. This trip we spent our first night at the Wingate by Wyndham. It would be a pretty short night which means if we didn’t like it, not a big deal. The Wingate turned out to be quite nice and we would stay at one again if it works for our travel plans. Our room was nice and clean, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was conveniently located.
The next three nights we stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. We stayed at one in Florida in 2021 and really liked it. When we stay more than a night a kitchenette with a big fridge is always good for us since we bring our raw food and Mom brings a lot of her food too. It is also nice to have a bigger space since we are one human and two dogs.
As you can see, the lobby is gorgeous. All the common areas are well cared for and fairly fancy looking.
We had the small kitchen, a couch and coffee table, the king sized bed, a bathroom, dressing area and a desk for Mom to do her work. There was plenty of space for all of us to do what we wanted to do, including Nelson discovering himself in the mirror!
After my trial, I was exhausted. Nose work takes a lot out of a dog as it is a huge mental challenge. Back in our room I crashed hard on the comfy bed.
The hotel has lots of windows so we can keep an eye on things, like when we wait for the elevator. Both of these hotels are places we will keep on our good dog friendly hotels list. Always remember, every chain also has bad apples, so read reviews before booking at a new place.

You guys are sure living the life staying at hotels and yes, you certainly are a handsome dude, Nelson!
We need a place to stay when we travel. Mom isn’t interested in the air bnb stuff and camping is not our thing at all. We like nice hotels so we can be comfortable and when we leave, we take our stuff and go, no cleaning or anything necessary.
Those look like lovely places to stay when traveling.
They are both good.
We agree about how important a good dog friendly hotel can be! Although we don’t stay in them very often, we also like Hampton Inns and Suites by Hilton (most are now dog friendly) but we are still avoiding Wyndam. Since they took over La Quinta’s they seem to be going down hill.

We had never been to a Wingate but it was really nice. There are some really nice LQs out there but three are also some terrible ones. One has to do some research first. Hamptons are normally really nice and so are Hilton Home 2 Suites.
It always nice to find a comfy and clean place when you are traveling.
It is important as a bad hotel kind of ruins the enjoyment of traveling.
Hotels can make or break a trip for us and our dogs! We also like/use these two hotel chains. Checking their individual ratings is always a fabulous idea, because as you said, they vary in quality – even in the same city!
Some chains really vary a lot others are pretty steady.
always wonderful to find a good dog friendly hotel ~ great photos of you sweet doggies ~ Mom and you work very hard ~ enjoy ~ hugs,
an artist reflects ~ (carol and ziggy)
Lots of hard work but we enjoy it.
Thanks for the references! Mom is always grateful to you all when you share info like this. I have never been to a hotel! But my brother and sister were big travelers with mom. We love the picture your mom caught of you looking in the mirror Nelson!! Great post. your friend Chester
It’s always good to share good hotels as they are often hard to find. I found that guy in the thing on the wall and he fascinated me for a while. Olivia said I was silly.
That’s wonderful, especially as much as you sweet pups travel! Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Good hotels are a must.
It’s nice to know there are pet friendly hotels out there which are actually nice places to stay. We don’t travel with our cats, but you never know when someone else might need to know, especially our kids who have dogs.
A bad hotel ruins a trip so we try to find good ones.
A comfy bed on the road is always welcome.
We’ve been stuck in a total dive a time or two and that is miserable. A good hotel is a must.
