Today I have some nature from one of my favorite walks. It is a long walk, about two hours long but I have always enjoyed it. It is a huge housing development on Brandtjen Farm totaling around five hundred acres! How big is it? Well it has a lake and a couple ponds and they started building in 2006 and are now almost done. Back when Mom first discovered the area with Emma and Katie, there were a few homes but most of the area was vacant land. They kept the homestead part of the farm and use them for offices, gatherings and the like.
This is a photo of me and Emma from October 2015. The barn behind us is adjacent to the one in my photo from the other day. Crazy that was ten years ago! Because of the length of the walk, Katie could not do it anymore. When I was young, we used to walk this walk every week or two but that was before dog sports. Now Mom isn’t home much on weekends to walk over there.
What did I find on my walk? These yellow flowering things look like fall, don’t you think?
There is a lot of nature around the trails in the development. This year with all the rain, everything is huge and green like a jungle.
I think this guy is an egret, but like with flowers, I’m not up on bird types either.
There is a lot of sumac around the trails too. Some of it is starting to turn color already.
Of course, I found some purple button flowers too.
This is me in front of the bigger lake in the development. Mom and I really enjoyed our walk and maybe we can do it again in the break from trials coming up. I did sleep the rest of the day after breakfast but it feels good being out and about in the cooler weather, getting some exercise.

Mom has been walking there for so long with all of us dogs except for Trine. It is a great place to see nature and a lot of nice trails.

There are a lot of great places for walking in our state and we are grateful for that.

It is a great place to walk.
I was doing two miles a day with Clover but she just can’t do it anymore. Maybe when it gets cold we can start again. Our walk is not as pretty as yours but it is Central Park.
Two miles is good. We normally do about three in the morning and then Olivia runs three with Mom. This walk is more like six miles but I love it.
What a wonderful walk! We bet it gets even prettier in the Autumn!

It is nice then too but we think of it as more of a summer destination with all the lakes and ponds and things that seem like summer. In the winter we don’t go much because not all the trails are plowed.

The development is beautiful and has so many trails we could walk there all day long and still not cover everything.

The original farmhouse is also right there and is used as a mortgage and title office. The homestead has been wonderfully preserved.
