Last weekend I went to Gathering Pines Scout Camp with Mom on Saturday and Sunday. She was the volunteer coordinator but had some time to hang out with me. Sunday she suggested we get up at 4 instead of 4:30 so we could take a walk around the lake behind me in this photo before her work started. Our family is always up early, so why not get up a bit earlier for some good exercise?
Behind me in the first photo is the beginning of the walking trail around the lake as well as this big amphitheater. Mom said I should get on the stage and pretend I was performing.
We started walking at six thirty, about twenty minutes before sunrise. It was a gorgeous morning with a touch of fog but not too hot and humid out. Behind me is the bright sun waking for the day.
All camps seem to love signs and this scout camp is no exception. There are signs like this all over the place for different places.
We found this dock on the completely calm lake. Being unsure of its safety, see it is partially under water, I posed very close to shore. There is a row boat in the woods not far from the dock. It is always super cool when the water reflects things as if it was a mirror.
Down the path a ways, there is another sign form the high ropes. You can actually see them in the distance in the first photo in this post.
Here are the high ropes. Mom and I have no interest in climbing around up there, no thank you! Since Mom had to get busy working and setting up for the trial for the day, we had to hurry around the lake in half an hour, so these are all the photos we had time for. The camp has so many trails, we would love to go back and walk another time. Walking energizes Mom, and it helps me nap in my kennel while she works. Have a funtastic weekend!

It’s gorgeous and peaceful with no one there but us.
That was a lovely place to walk and prepare for the day.
It got me some exercise since I was spending the day in my kennel, mostly.
That really is a pretty area! I’m pretty sure I would avoid climbing up on those ropes too!
Mom can’t believe anyone would want to climb on them!

I still thinking getting up at 4 is ridiculous. What time do you go to sleep?
Around ten but Mom is a morning person and all her energy is in the morning. Night is not her thing and she avoids doing too much because her mind isn’t on it.
That does look like a very fun place!
