Since we have the need for speed with our backyard racing and FastCAT, it was natural to visit the Indianapolis Speedway when we were in the area. Of course, we could not go in the museum but we did check out a few things like these plaques outside around the track.
The only real sign for the place is right over the entrance on a busy road, so no posing for a photo with it. We did find this one which is rather cute on one of the souvenir and food buildings.
Stone cars remind us of the Flintstones but we are the not allowed to go near real cars which made these just perfect. A J Foyt is a famous racer name we know.
The other car is also a fun place for taking a photo with us hounds.
Finally we leave you with some signage at the track as well as around town. I personally love the fire hydrants being a guy, LOL. I have the need for speed, and these hydrants will probably help guys pee faster, don’t you think. We are thankful for a short visit to the famous raceway.

What a fun place to visit! Love all of the beautiful plaques!
We could not see a lot of things but it was fun.
Did you leave a “message” on that fire hydrant?
I read some and left my replies.
Wow!! You are getting to see so many great places during your journeys, Nelson!! The speedway looks so cool!!

It is a fun place to see despite being limited if you are a dog.
I love the hydrant!!!! (Being a guy too). Awesome pics. Speedy spot. Your friend Chester
The hydrants are super cool but I like the car and speed stuff too.
Very nice and fun post from Indianapolis the home of Speed. Rockingham, NC is famous for NAS CAR racing.

Mom isn’t too into car racing. She liked Formula 1 when she lived in Europe but here she isn’t watching car stuff. Still it is fun to see since you always hear about it.
Love the fire hydrant
It’s great for us guys especially!
WOW! Speedy recovery!! We are fond of hydrants ourselves. Some great shots!
It was a fun place to see and put our paws on.
That was fun to see! Hey, y’all are really fast, you should give the track a go. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I wish I could have but most areas were off limits and even more off limits to dogs.
I’m not much for racing, but visiting these places is fun.
We never watch the races but it is still fun to see such a famous place.
Whoa…what an interesting place to check out. Nice autumn flowers there, too.
It was interesting to see the place although we don’t watch the Indy 500, we hear about it all the time and now we have been there.
