Fourteen years down, starting on fifteen today! I wasn’t even a dot on the radar when Emma founded this blog on November 8th, 2011! Sometimes I wonder how she would like having a brother and two GBGV sisters. I do know the work she put in to start the blog, start dog sports with our breed and getting out to promote our breed is amazing! Today we celebrate My GBGV Life. Emma’s color was red, thus the red balloon.
Since I never met Emma, I can only recite what others have told me about her. Reading her posts also helps one get to know her. She sure was a professional, that is a fact. CBO, Chief Blogging Officer is a lot of work I have learned but she did the job for seven years and did it so well.
When Emma passed away on October 30th, 2028, Madison stepped up and took over the job of CBO. She too was awesome and managed to run things for six years. Each of us has our own agenda but it all flows together and helps the blog keep evolving.
To celebrate this year, I had the balloon idea. We have five chairs for five GBGV’s. The two empty seats have big accomplishments, the blog, and Emma’s book. The rest of us have our laptops as we are still actively creating posts for the blog five days a week. Each of us has our own color balloon too. We all celebrate the blog as well as the two CBOs we have lost today.
I thought I would go over some things that may be interesting to you about My GBGV Life.
- The focus of the blog has changed over time from Emma with a big focus on cooking to me with more of a focus on our sports and travel adventures.
- This is the third theme the blog has had. Mom thinks about revamping but we haven’t had time to do that. Maybe this winter, maybe not?
- As of this post, we have 20,576 images in our blog media library! That is a lot of photos!
- Today, we are posting our 3564th blog post. For a time Emma posted seven days a week! We are good with five now.
- Over the last fourteen years we have accumulated 141,390 blog comments.
- Emma wanted to call the blog Emma’s Life or something similar but Gramma convinced her to use a more generic name so other GBGV’s could use the blog if they came along. Thank dog she listened to Gramma.
- The My GBGV Life logo was designed for Emma in 2014. Although it looks like her, it also is generic enough for us all to use.
Thank you to all of our blog followers and friends for being our fans! Over time, we have met some of you in person which is really fun too. Fasten your seat belts, we are now starting year fifteen and we plan to continue blogging at this point without any scheduled end.

Happy 14th Blogoversary! We absolutely love your blog and wish so much that we had gotten to know Emma.
We wish she was still here but life is all about change. She changed Mom’s life and the GBGV’s after her lives with all the work she did to get our breed out there. It’s our job to carry on and I think we do a good job of it with all our travels and activities. The blog is work sometimes but it is also a wonderful journal of our lives.
Hip-hip-hooray! Congrats on #14. Sending loads of good wishes for continued success. Hugs and tail wiggles to all of you from me and Wilson.
Thank you. The three of us have been blogging since Mom brought us home, so we don’t know life without it. It’s fun and we’ll keep going until it isn’t fun anymore.
Wow!!! Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! Mom says she has been reading your blog almost since the beginning !! We love it. And my sister and brother loved. Good Job!! your friend Chester
Thank you. For the three of us, it has been our life since Mom brought us home so it is our normal. We have fun with it and can’t imagine not doing it.

We like the variety, sports, travel, fun at home, current events/holidays, we just may change the look of the blog if we have time to figure out a new theme we like.
Congratulations and Happy Blogiversary! All of you have accomplished amazing things (even the cooking!)!
Emma was amazing in the kitchen. None of us come near the talent she had for cooking and baking.
Hello chums,
Congratulations- wow! 15years👏🏻
We’ve followed from day one and Emma was the reason we had Kitty – our very own gorgeous GBGV.
13years of wonderful hound memories but heartbreakingly we lost our lovely girl last month.
Thank you so much – mygbgvlife, and Emma for leading us to this fabulous breed😘xx
We are so sorry for your loss! Thirteen is a great age but still it is never long enough. The loss of Madison at only eight still is very hard for us. Young and sudden leaves so much unfinished business! Hopefully you will find another Grand to enrich your lives one day. We know Mom can’t imagine a day without at least of us crazy hounds with her. Thank you for following us for so many years!
What a wonderful accomplishment. Congratulations to all including Mom.
Thank you. Mom and all of us love working on our blog. It is fun and it is also such a wonderful “diary” of all of our lives over the years. Friends like you make it all the more fun, so thank you for that.
Thanks for the memories! I have ALWAYS loved the photo of Emma in pearls and peachy sweater behind the computer
It is so her personality according to Bailie the only one of us who knew her. As Mom tells people all the time, we GBGV’s are all exactly the same, just very different!
Congratulations on your Blogaversary! I have been reading for at least 11 of those years, although I think it’s been longer. I remember 7 days a week, and I remember when Bailey joined the family. Losing Emma was really hard for us, so I imagine it’s 100 times worse for your mom. <3 Thank you for continuing the blog. I learn so much from you all, and I love you all so much! <3
Awww, thank you so much for keeping tabs on us over so many years! Losing Emma was hard on Mom, Bailie and Madison but Mom says losing Madison has been the hardest loss of any pet she has ever had. She was so sweet and at only eight, so young. It all happened so fast and there were so many plans that could never be done. It still makes Mom cry almost daily. Emma is dearly missed too but she had a lot more time here to accomplish things. We all love blogging and have fun doing it. There are no plans to quit as long as we love what we are doing.
Happy Blogoversary !
Thank you.
That sure has been quite the blog journey for you all. Happy Blogoversary dear friends!
Thank you. It doesn’t seem possible that it is so long but on the other hand, Mom can barely remember not blogging. It is simply part of our lives at this point and the three of us have done it all of our lives.
I’ve only really “met” you a short time ago, but I am so glad I did. Happy Blog Anniversary!
Thank you. We love you and your blog. I think we only found your blog maybe two years ago. Cheers to blogging friends!
Happy Blogoversary! My first post was April 15, 2007 and I had no idea where my blog was headed or how long it would last. It’s become kind of a time capsule of my life events, much like the pups. Our second cocker spaniel, Lucy didn’t come along until 2017 and life has never been the same. I have truly enjoyed finding and following this blog. The pups have been awesome and how you get them to pose for nearly any type of photo is just on another level. Have a very blessed anniversary.
Thank you so much. It is like a diary of our lives and we love it. The three of us started modeling at 9 weeks old so it is just another thing we do and we actually get excited when Mom grabs for her camera. When the blog started there was no plan so to thing it is still going is amazing and you have even more years under your belt!
